ANSWER 1

Aspects of Group

 Individual authority and responsibility.

In every group there are members and every member has a specific task assigned.
If there are 5 members, all 5 members will have individualised tasks and will
have authority & responsibility.
 Goal Oriented
Every individual will have a goal to be accomplished. When individual Goals are
done, then group goals can be attained.
 Vision
Every group has a vision. Every individual will contemplate about a vision and
collectively come up with a group vision.
 Resposibility of outcome
Whenever a person attains success and failure, it is attributed to an individual.
Group outcome whether success or failure is attributed to self and it is not a
collective task.
 Individuals enjoy the individual identity in a group.

Group behavior aspect that I am most concerned of is vision.

The problem arised when the airbags manufactured by Takata were not up to the standard
wheich the customers expect from Honda, so as a measure to rectify this Honda had a
vision that it will be carrying out replacement free of cost at HCIL dealerships across the
country from July 29, 2019 and the company will communicate with customers directly.
In April this year, Honda had recalled 3,669 units of Accord sedan in the country as part
of a global exercise. There is a huge discrepancy in the vision & goal which Honda Board
members at Japan had thought and the result in India. This can be due to individuals not
having the same vision or had not worked towards formulating strategies to achieve the
vision of replacing 5100 units.

Suggestions

 The company board members must communicate their vision not only to the regional
top level managers but the vision should be easily understood by every individual
working, so as to facilitate them to formulate their own strategies. Group may lack a
clear purpose and goal of the problem itself. The group may not actually be able to
diagnose the problem. If the problem is able to be solved by the structure of the
organization, the reason for the team is of no use.
 Appreciation of individuals
When there is a lack of mutual reciprocal relationship, there will be disputes in

times of failure. When there is no accountability on somebody specific under

the garb of shared success and shared failure, there will be disputes and could

be a demoralising experience for members. For no reason, other members get

tagged for failure even though they worked to the best of their abilities.

 Lack of shared leadership. When there is a shared relationship, for every leader

there are followers. But if there are multiple leaders, the following will be

divided and split which may cause indifference inside the group. Also if a leader

is asked to become a follower, it could be a big detriment as there is no shared

leadership.

ANSWER 2

Intra-individual Conflict is when an individual has conflicts with himself regarding goals,
efforts.

Compromise in intra-personal conflicts is that you search for a new goal. You
compromise with the goal itself, and set a lower goal. The first goal was an emotional
attachment, and goal 2 is out of forces choices.
Inter-group conflict is that there are 2 group involved in a conflict situation in the
organisation

Compromise in such conflicts is that one group is willing to give up some of its goals in
order to preserve the relationship, but it expects the other group to give up something as
well. If they both sacrifice something, they’ve demonstrated a willingness to get along.

Compromise in intra-personal conflict is due to forced choices whereas compromise in

inter-group conflict due to unachievability of the goals if the conflict persists.

Compromise in intra-personal conflict is regarding one’s own efforts and cognitive

behaviours whereas compromise in inter-group conflict is to preserve the relationship and
to demonstrate a willingness to get along.
