A leading research University in the ASEAN Region.

University Mission
The Isabela State University is committed to develop globally competitive human, technological
resources and services through quality instructions, innovative research, responsive community
engagement and viable resource management programs for inclusive growth and sustainable
development.

Goals of the College of Education


The college is tasked to develop professional educators and train future teachers who are
competent, caring, confident, committed and would contribute to the development of the community
through education by:
1. Enhancing the qualifications of educators for academic and professional development equipped with
advanced training and educational innovations as well as research and extension capabilities; and

2. Preparing and developing highly qualified basic education teachers and skilled technologist through
quality and well-rounded pre-service training in both academic and vocational fields for diverse
communities of learners.

General Objectives / course learning outcomes of the assessment in learning 1.


The general learning objectives or intended learning outcomes are standards to be attained in a
subject.

Specific Learning Objectives


Specific learning objectives or student learning outcomes are standards to be achieve in a
specific concept or topic. Ex.:
a. discuss the difference between instructional goals and learning outcomes

b. Differentiate between cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.

c. Formulate appropriate learning objectives / outcomes that are constructively align with
standards.

d. explain the basic concepts and principles in educational assessment

e. discuss the role of assessment in making instructional decisions to improve teaching and
learning.

f. discuss the applications and implications of assessment to teaching and learning.


RELATIOSHIPS OF EACH CONCEPTS

If we are going to follow the figure from up to down it shows goals from general to specific.
Let’s try to analyze the relationships of each concept. Isabela State University (ISU) set a vision which is
to be a leading research University in ASEAN Region then that is one of the highest goal of the
University. ISU also committed to develop globally competitive human and etc… and that is the mission.
A University is composed of different colleges and institutes and COLLEGE OF EDUCATION is one of its
college. Now, to let the University rich the vision and mission which is to produce globally competent
professionals and leaders in the society. The said college is set goals to contribute or to help the
university rich the desired goals. The College of Education wants to “to produce globally competent
future teachers”. That’s why college is mandated to offer teacher education program to achieve its goal.
This include BSED, BTLED, BPED and BEED department where I am belong. A vital in the implementation
of an academic program is a curriculum which is a courses along with set standards, concepts,
knowledge and skills to be acquires by learners. To visualize this standards, different subject courses are
designed according to its general and specific learning objectives and anchored with teaching
methodologies and assessment procedures. Every courses has designed goals specifically let’s talk about
Assessment in Learning. This course has been relegated to a secondary role in the educational process.
The specific goals of this course are stated above where we can see there it is very interesting and
important to acquire by learners like me. Now let’s make a conclusion. The University will able to rich
the vision mission if everybody will contribute to build unity especially faculty members, officers of the
colleges and also to all learners because our success will start on the specific goal of the University.
