All 8 ports on the SDI card support both SD-SDI and HD-SDI. Up to 8 SD-SDI channels are supported but the current
hardware and power configuration only supports up to 4 HD-SDI channels
2. Plug the bootable USB stick to the X2 unit and reboot the device
3. Flashing process will start automatically (this will take about 15 min)
To confirm the new image has been installed, configure the Electra X Managment IP address from the Electra X2 console
(or configure IPs in NMX and boot up Electra X2 unit) and log onto the Web GUI (user: harmonic, password: password1!).
1. Connect a monitor to the VGA port and a keyboard to the USB port on the X2 unit
3. Configure the IP address and default gateway by entering the following command
C:\tftpboot\ElectraX2\
3. Login to the SAG and navigate to the “Settings” -> “Software Upgrade”
6. When the upgrade process ends, a “Reboot Required” alarm will appear. Reboot the device to loaded the upgraded
firmware
**The Electra X2 encoder will bootp like any other Electra encoder if it is configured on NMX with the encoder’s MAC
address and it has network connectivity to the NMX when it is powered on. The MAC address can be found on the pull-out
service tag from the front panel.
3. Select Electra X2 for the hardware model and set the IP Address, MAC Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway

4. Finish creating the map with other devices (if necessary) and make sure the port connections are correct
5. Set port IPs in spreadsheet view
8. Select the output signal/protocol, device type, and name the transport
16. Connect services to the map in the flow tab on NMX Designer

4. Licensing Information
Licensing is required for some encoding features, and you cannot enable those features without the appropriate
licensing. You can add licenses to your system using the Harmonic NLM 4.0 (NodeLock License Manager). In NLM 4.0,
you can:
Most licenses are permanent—once enabled the feature will continue to function without raising license-related
alarms. A small set of licenses are time-limited and have different behavior, as follows:
Streams that include features under license will raise alarms when their licensing expires.
CAUTION: If a license expires while a channel is running on Electra X2, that channel will be stopped immediately.
