The CFA Syllabus
®

The exams are multiple choice for levels I and


II. Level III is half multiple choice and half
essay. The examination process is very fair;
when you register for the exam you are sent
the CFA Program Curriculum and these text
books cover the examinable syllabus. Each
chapter reading starts with learning outcome
statements (LOS) instructing you on what you
must be able to do to pass the exam. These
readings change each year to ensure what
you learn stays up to date; it is essential that
you do not use out-of-date study material.
