Assessment Task
In groups of 3, you will research energy sources, complete notes and produce an electronic
presentation to the class.

Instructions and Dates


In your assigned groups, you will choose an energy source from the list, you will conduct research using
the materials provided and websites provided. Your notes must be written in your notebooks or typed up
on computer and handed in with your completed presentation. Once your notes have been completed
and approved according to the dates below, you will produce an electronic presentation covering the
following (there is to be NO electronic presentations begun until all notes have been approved):
1. Title Slide
2. Description and History of the Energy Source
3. How the Energy Source is found, recovered and used in today’s society.
4. Advantages and Disadvantages of the Energy Source.
5. Two or more of the following:
Environmental,
Economic,
Political,
Social,
Cultural or
Ethical Impacts of the Energy Source
6. Future of the Energy Source
7. Resources slide

Although all parts of the presentation are important you will really show your understanding of Energy
Sources, their benefits and limitations in your explanation of the impacts that energy source has on
our world today. All group members are to demonstrate their individual understanding of the material
by presenting a specific part; Mr. McKinney must approve this role prior to the due date. Ensure
your notes are clear in demonstrating your understanding.

Presentations are to be between 4-6 minutes long.
