RICOH COPIERS: HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MODE

IMPORTANT

Don’t forget ricoh, savin, lanier, gestetner are pretty much the same under the hood.
Also, don’t forget to reboot your copier before trying this. If you are a button puncher and enter this code wrong.
You might lock the machine up for subsequent attempts if you don’t reboot with failed attempts. So if you enter a
method and it doesn’t work. Reboot then try the next method. If no rebooting then you might enter a failed
attempt that locks up the machine then enter a good attempt and it still does not work.

SERVICE MODE ENTRY

Method 1:
reset—>107—>stop (hold for 5 seconds)

Method 2:
Clear—>107—>C (hold for 5 seconds)

Method 3:
reset—>107—>CLEAR (hold for 5 seconds)

Method 4:

Reset—->806182—>CLEAR (hold for 5 seconds)

Method 5:

Stop—->Job List—->Reset—->806182—>CLEAR (hold for 5 seconds)

Method 6:

if you go to a printer version of one of the 03 range, then to access SP mode you have to press and hold the HOME
and SIMPLIFIED SCREEN buttons for over 3 seconds and then press the USER TOOLS button

Now lets say, you know the code works and you are dealing with a true network fanatic you might run into service
mode lock. This either disables some or all service mode (SP) functions.

SERVICE MODE LOCK
=================
User Tools > System Settings > Administrator Tools > Service Mode Lock >
OFF

This unlocks the machine and lets you get access to all the SP codes.

You can now do servicing on the machine.

The unlock will persist even if machine is rebooted.
If you must use the printer bit switches, go into the SP mode and set SP 5169
to “1″.
After machine servicing is completed:
Change SP 5169 from “1″ to “0″.
Turn the machine off and on. Turn service mode lock back on.
