Re: LCA 2 – Work Experience & Practical Achievement Task

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Leaving Certificate Applied students are required to complete a Practical Achievement task in 6 th
year. This task requires students to complete a challenge of a practical nature outside of school. Due
to level 5 restrictions students will complete this task online by taking an online course. Current
restrictions also effect work experience, students can no longer attend work experience in their
chosen workplace.

To allow students to continue with their studies we have chosen a number of free online courses for
students to complete at home on Tuesdays. These courses will meet the requirements of the Practical
Achievement Task and learning objectives of the work experience module. Students are required to
complete the courses over the coming weeks and submit evidence, in the form of screenshots, photos
or certificates, to their teacher as proof of taking part.

If your child does not have access to a device, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting
the school.
