UFO is a tactic - stratigic game. and should be handled as such.
this walkthrough will provide you with tools for easier game handleing and will
also include research tree.
the introduction will not provide you with contolling info or anything you might
find in the game's manual.
--------------> getting started
the game starts with a short tutorial that teaches you to handle the keys and th
e weapons, as well as a couple of
encouters to teach you to the basics of fighting.
once the tutorial mission is over, you'll have to start working your way through
the planet.
first thing you must do is assuring the safety of your water supply. in order to
do it, press the "poeple" button on the
top part of the screen and man your scientific bay with 4 men. it is crucial to
get as many territories as possable
before the palnet is occupied by all sorts of alliens. the more men your scienti
fic bay holds, the faster you will gain
control of new territories.
while you're in the people screen, make sure to place your 4 highest ranking sci
entists in the research labs.
research will enable you to create new weapons and ammo, which is your weak poin
t during the game.
research developmnt trees are available in the end of this manual.
once you start, the recticulans will offer you two soldiers and some weapons in
exchange for peace - TAKE IT.
these two soldiers are the most capable units you'll have during the game.
some more offers will come from the alliens, and you should accept the most of t
hem as long as you don't give up valueble
resources. the only exeption is battle armor for your allien soldiers, that will
save their lives as the fights get
rougher.
the technical bay must also be well maned. as the technitians there are building
your mines and radar/ rocket bases.
make sure your Civil Engineering building is housed by at least one technitian a
t a time - without it building, no new
constructions can be build.
some of your men are duel classed - make sure your squad contains at least one s
oldier technitian and one soldier - scientist
(one of the aliens fits there).
