Title of the Article
Start your article with the introduction. Use active voice, rather than passive voice, as the latter

should be used in your writing.

This template is formatted according to the APA style guidelines, with the top of 2.54 cm,

bottom, left and right; 12-point times New Roman; double space; left-aligned; and paragraphs

indented 5-7 spaces. The page number appears 2.54 cm from the right edge on the first line of

each page, excluding the Figures page.

Titles

Use titles and subtitles to organize sections of your article. The first-level label will be

capitalized in the initial letter and centered on the page. Do not start a new page for each title.

Subtitles

Subtitles will be written in cursive letter and left-aligned.

Quotes

The original sources must be documented in the body of the article, citing the authors and

publication dates of the sources. The full font will appear in the list of references at the end of the

article, following the body of the article. When authors of a source that are not part of the formal

structure of the sentence, both authors and years of publication will appear in parentheses,

separated by semicolons, for example (Smithland Jones, 2001; Anderson, Charles, and Johnson,

2003). When you quote a font that has three, four, or five authors, all authors are included the

first time the font is quoted. When that font is quoted again, the first author's last name and "al."

are used. See the example in the next paragraph.

The use of this standard APA style "result in a favorable impression on your teacher" (2001).

This was confirmed again in 2003 by Professor Anderson (Charles & Johnson, 2003).

When quoting a font that has two authors, both authors are quoted each time. If there are six or

more authors to be quoted, use the surname of the first author "al.". the first and each subsequent

one that has been quoted. When using a direct quotation, always include the author, year, and

page number as part of the subpoena. A quotation of less than 40 words must be enclosed in

double quotation marks and must be incorporated into the formal structure of the statement. A

longer quotation of 40 words or more should appear (quotation marks) in block format with each

line indented with five spaces from the left margin. 1

Entries are organized alphabetically by surnames of first authors and are formatted with a

hanging indent. Most reference entries have three components:

1. Authors: Authors are listed in the same order as specified in the source, using surnames and

initials. Commas separate all authors. When there are seven or more authors, list the first six and

then use "et al." for remaining authors. If no author is identified, the title of the document begins

the reference.

2. Year of Publication: In parenthesis following authors, with a period following the closing

parenthesis. If no publication date is identified, use "n.d." in parenthesis following the authors.

3. Source Reference: Includes title, journal, volume, pages (for journal article) or title, city of

publication, publisher (for book).
