II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT (25 minutes)


Pupils are asked to open PULSE 2 book page 18.

ACTIVITY 1

1. Pupils are reminded that the words likes are things you like and
dislikes are things you do not like.
2. Pupils are asked to read the questions in Ex 1, PULSE 2 (page 18).
3. Pupils are asked to listen to the audio recording 1.20.
4. Pupils follow the text in their books and then answer the questions.
5. Pupils are asked to check the answers in pairs.
6. Pupils are nominated to read and answer Ex 1 as a class.

ACTIVITY 2
1. Pupils listen to the explanation of the usage of the words because
and so.
2. Pupils are asked to read and complete the Ex 4, PULSE 2 (page 18)
using because and so individually.
1. Pupils compare their answers in pairs.
2. Pupils are nominated to read and check their answers as a class.

III. POST-LESSON (30 minutes)

ACTIVITY 1 (Pair work)

1. Pupils are given a ‘My Friend’s Magic Ball’ template each.


2. Pupils are asked to question their friend next to them about their
favourites based on the categories written on the template.
3. Pupils list out, draw and complete the template according to their

4. Pupils are reminded to state why for all the favourites of their

5. Pupils are nominated to present their friend’s Magic Ball to the

ACTIVITY 2 (HOMEWORK)
1. Pupils are asked to write a short paragraph of their own personal
profile in their long exercise book.

The whole lesson is recapped.


REFLECTIONS: The whole lesson was carried out successfully. Although the pupils arrived
late to class, yet the stages were completed. ¾ of the pupils were able to
achieve the objectives of the lesson.
