Title of the research
Managing cultural diversity in the workplace: A case study of Royal Dutch Shells Limited
Research Objectives
To investigate how the HR polices of Babylon Healthcare Limited help cultural diversity
in the work environment.
To distinguish the impacts of hierarchical approaches on the cultural diversity in the work
environment.
To comprehend the degree to which cultural diversity bolsters development in the
working environment.
To recognize the effect of cultural diversity on the representative commitment and

take part in such research work is that I need to aid organizations, for example, Royal Dutch
Shell with the goal that they could comprehend the impacts of cultural diversity and take choices
according to the needs.
According to Konard (2013), there are basically three purposes for the way that organizations are
continuously changing the mentalities to treat the workers with various foundations. Above all
else, it is critical to utilize the best personalities in the organisation; best ability isn't constantly
required. Besides, market share can be expanded by the differing client base which is finished by
the different workforce as they can deal with it better and finally, the organisation become
increasingly serious when each culturally diverse worker can bring something new for the
working environment.
According to Groves and Feyerherm (2011), Cultural diversity has numerous advantages. It can
increase the creativity of the workers in a certain issue and a better solution comes from them.
Thus, the strength of that organisation expands which brings about expanded benefit too. Studies
additionally show that cultural diversity in the work environment can hoist worker commitment.
Workers connect with among themselves in easy-going talks in relaxation time to find out about
one another. It braces their bond and they can work all the more capably as a group. To be
progressively exact, these are totally interconnected.
According to Infield and Mugisha (2013), Cultural diversity expands the reputation of any
organisation. Organisations which utilize and support individuals from various foundation are
commonly considered as great bosses. Be that as it may, decent diversity has a few difficulties as
4
well. Communication challenge is one of them. At whatever point individuals from various
dialects work, correspondence can cause an obstacle as English may not be everybody's strength.
Inability to convey appropriately can prompt a massive drop in efficiency and group cooperative
energy.
According to Paulus and Kenworthy (2016), group creativity can be expanded because of social
assorted diversity since it offers the chance to get familiar with some new aptitudes and
encounters from the colleagues and for all intents and purposes actualize the collected
information in the work environment. It has been demonstrated by a research that when
individuals from different foundation work with one another they locate a superior arrangement
of an extreme or basic issue. In this manner it can without a doubt produce more benefit for the
organisation.
Kerwin (2014) expresses that occasionally cultural diversity makes commotion in the
organisation in light of the fact that there can be strife among the colleagues. Other than it is a
test to make a solid bonding among the enhanced laborers.
Research approach: The research approach can be named as the organized course of plan about
how information can be gathered, handled, and introduced for a report. There are basically two
research approaches that are the deductive approach and the inductive approach (Azungah,
5
2018). Deductive research approach is utilized in this research since I have theories that cultural
diversity can improve an organization's exhibition. The deductive methodology initially makes a
theory for a given arrangement of issues and afterward interviews the speculation against the
issues with legitimate leading of research. This methodology spares a tremendous measure of
time and exertion. In any case, its drawback is that regularly the nature of information can't be
guaranteed. In any case, the benefits of the deductive methodology are far more noteworthy than
its negative marks. That is the reason I would utilize the deductive methodology for this paper.
Research Techniques and procedures: There are various techniques by which the researchers
can conduct their research process such as questionnaires, surveys, interviews, case study etc.
(Griesberger, et al, 2011). For this research work I will use the survey method. First of all, a
questionnaire will be prepared and it will be given to the 60 employees of Royal Dutch Shells ltd
and the responses of the employees will be recorded. Personal interview will be conducted if I
need for the research paper. There are numerous points of interest to this strategy. Solid
information, low cost, direct connection with the members are a portion of the points of interest.
Data collection method: Where a study will be led on 60 respondents from various culture as
the essential source. Discretionary sources incorporate distributed diaries, sites, internet
providers, and others. Information from essential and optional sources are incredibly important to
assemble exact information with less time and costs.
Sampling methods: There are so many sampling methods such as random, stratified, systematic,
convenience etc. For my research work, I will use the stratified method. The questionnaire set
will be distributed among the 60 employees of the organization. The questionnaire will contain
12 unique questions.
6
Analysis method: There are various sorts of systematic decisions. For example, mono-
technique, blended strategy, and multi-strategy explore decisions. In any case, the decision of
strategy is completely relied upon the nature and volume of information required in the research
work. For this examination work, descriptive statistical data is required to assemble the
important data. For further developed arrangement, numerous visual designs are included the
research paper.
Research ethics: The security of the information would be carefully guaranteed to prevent loss.
Access to the information would be restricted to the creator and guide of this module. It would be
additionally guaranteed that the gathered information won't be utilized for any exploration other
than this without earlier authorization of the concerned gatherings.
Risk: Coordinating all the continuous activities inside the given time and gasp may get
hazardous. Talking with the respondents can be also an unsafe task.
Cost: There will be some cost which is related to this research project. The estimated cost is
given below:

From this Gantt chart, it can be estimated that it will take 24 weeks to complete the whole
research process. For instance, the project planning will be done within 3 weeks and then the
research methodologies will take place in the 7 th week. At the same way the other steps will be
completed in a certain timeframe. At last, the presentation of the research findings will be done
in the 24th week and that’s how the whole process will be conducted.
