Sub: Methodology for achieving Learning KRA in Performance Management System (PMS).

As a part of strengthening of HR process areas through Competency based practices,


mandatory “LEARNING KRA” comprising of individual efforts towards self/peer-based
learning, contribution in knowledge management/knowledge sharing, subordinate
development, contribution in workgroup activities carrying maximum 5 marks has been
introduced in PMS for E2-E7 level executives.

In order to enable the employees to obtain the marks allotted to Learning KRA in the
Performance Management System (PMS), a detailed methodology has been developed and
is enclosed as Annexure-I

Annexure- I

Methodology for achieving Learning KRA in Performance Management System (PMS)

1. Learning KRA in PMS


Employees in the level of E2-E7 shall have 5 marks for “Learning KRA” in their PMS.

2. Methodology for achieving Learning KRA in Performance Management System (PMS)


Executive shall have the following options to achieve the Learning KRA
Option 1: Completion of e-learning programs/certification courses
Option 2: Contribution towards Professional Circle
Option 3: Contribution towards POWERGRID KM Portal/DPE SAMANVAY Portal
Option 4: Delivering Lectures
Option 5: Winning Competitions

For achieving learning KRA, option-1 shall be compulsory and from the remaining 4 options,
executives need to choose at least 2 options. Executives shall be awarded reward points based
on the above options.

3. Description of Reward Points


The details of option and reward points are attached in Annexure-A.
4. Procedure for Conversion of reward points into Marks
2 reward points shall be equivalent to 1 Mark.
5. Procedure for maintaining records
 Corporate HRD shall maintain the details of options, reward points and marks of all
employees in the HRD web portal.
 Wherever required, employees shall register their achievements along with documentary
evidence (copy of certificate for certification programs, hyperlink for uploads in case of
knowledge portal etc.) in a web form to be provided by HRD in HRD web portal.
 Employees can view option wise cumulative reward points and marks earned by them in
HRD web portal in their respective profile.
6. Linkage of marks to learning KRA in PMS
Concerned reporting officer shall assign the marks to the Learning KRA in the PMS in respect of the
employees under his/her jurisdiction based on the records in the HRD web portal.
Annexure – A

For achieving learning KRA, option-1 shall be compulsory and from the remaining 4 options, executives
need to choose at least 2 options. Executives shall be awarded reward points based on the above
options.

There is no limit in acquiring reward points. However only a maximum of 3 marks can be accumulated by
the employees in option 1 and minimum of 1 mark each should be accumulated in the remaining 2
options i.e option 2-5.

Description of Reward Points


Option 1: Completion of e-learning programs /certification courses

6 Certification program in Project Management-PMI, USA 3 points

Option 2: Contribution towards Professional Circle


1 Number of contribution in online/offline professional circle 2 point per contribution

Option 3: Contribution towards POWERGRID Knowledge Management & E-


learning Portal - PRAGYAN/ DPE Knowledge Portal - SAMANVAY
1 Uploading Success Stories in PRAGYAN 2 points per each upload
2 Uploading Article, Presentations, Workbooks in PRAGYAN 1 point per each upload
3 Uploading Book Reviews, Article Reviews in PRAGYAN 1 point per each upload
4 Uploading Case Studies & Research Paper in PRAGYAN 2 points per each upload
5 Developing e-learning course for PRAGYAN as per the specification by 4 points per course uploaded
HRD
6 Contribution towards DPE SAMANVAY Portal duly verified by CC-HRD 1 point

Option 4: Delivering Lectures


1 In-house programs 0.5 point per session of 1 ½
hour duration
2 For POWERGRID’s clients 1 point per session of 1 ½ hour
duration
3 Seminar or conference , External event, Guest faculty 1 Point per each lecture
Option 5: Competitions
1 Leading three positions in POWERGRID in-house competitions 2 Points per competition
related to learning i.e Quiz, Business Simulation etc.
2 Leading three positions in national competitions representing 3 Points per competition
POWERGRID related to learning i.e Quiz, Business Simulation etc.
3 Leading three positions in international competitions representing 4 Points per competition
POWERGRID related to learning i.e Quiz, Business Simulation etc.
