1 How to import data into Xmgrace

Step1: Go to the option DATA and click it.

Step2: Then click at option IMPORT and then click at ASCII.

Step3: Now Select the .dat file you want to plot from the Grace:Read sets.

Step4: If your .dat has more than two columns then in the Load as option click and select

Block Data and the columns that you want to plot and click Apply and then click close.

2 Axis Label

Step1: To label the axis double on the axis line then Grace Axes appears.

Step2: Then in the option Label String enter the label you want to type.

3 Writting Text on the graph

Step1: Go to the option WINDOW and click it.

Step2: Then select DRAWING OBJECT and in that select TEXT.

To type special symbol in xmgrace following is the format:

\f{Symbol}[]\f

In place of [] we type character for the specific symbol. To find the character for the

specific symbol do the following steps:

Step1: Go to WINDOW and select FONT TOOL.

Step2: In FONT option select SYMBOL.

Step3: Now if we click on any of the symbol then in option CString the character is

shown.

4 To save .agr file

Step1: Click on FILE and then SAVE AS.

Step2: Then in the Grace: Save project go to the option Selection and save

filename.agr.

5 To shift the Legend Box

Step1: Go to PLOT and in that select Graph Appearence.

Step2: In Grace: Graph Appearence click on the Leg. Box.

Step3: In Locate In select World coords and enter position of X and Y where you want

to place it.

6 How to create EPS file

Step1: Go to File and select Print Setup.

Step2: In the option Device choose EPS then APPLY and ACCEPT.

Step3: Then SAVE and then PRINT.

7 How to create inset

Step1: Go to PLOT and select Graph Appearence.

Step2: Then right click below the option Graph and select Create New.

8 How to write fraction

If we want to write fraction like 3
then write as follows:

9 To write ensemble average

If we want to write hai i in the axis label we have to write it as:
