Research Methodology

Description of the Training:

Research Methodology is a hands‐on course designed to impart education in the foundational

methods and techniques of academic research in social sciences and business management
context.

Research scholars would examine and be practically exposed to the main components of a
research framework i.e., problem definition, research design, data collection, ethical issues in
research, report writing, and presentation.

Once equipped with this knowledge, participants would be well‐placed to conduct disciplined
research under supervision in an area of their choosing.

In addition to their application in an academic setting, many of the methodologies discussed in

this course would be similar to those deployed in professional research environments.

The development of research in science education is strongly affected by curriculum

developments.

Therefore, research studies carried out during the 1960s were often linked to curriculum
development work which sought to explore the advantages of a new curriculum, or parts thereof,
over an existing or previous one (Kempa, 1991).

Many other studies were focused on difficulties in teaching new curriculum issues and the use of
new teaching strategies.

However, in the 1980s reform, new perspectives on teaching and learning caused a shift in the
interest of many researchers towards studies of students’ alternative conceptions and ways of
reasoning (De Jong, 2007).
Objectives of the training:

The primary objective of this course is to develop a research orientation among the scholars and
to acquaint them with fundamentals of research methods.

Specifically, the course aims at introducing them to the basic concepts used in research and to
scientific social research methods and their approach.

It includes discussions on sampling techniques, research designs and techniques of analysis.

Some other objectives of the course are:

• To develop understanding of the basic framework of research process.

• To develop an understanding of various research designs and techniques.
• To identify various sources of information for literature review and data collection.
• To develop an understanding of the ethical dimensions of conducting appliedresearch.
• Appreciate the components of scholarly writing and evaluate its quality.
• To be able sloving any problem this may facing during the study abroad through
research.
• To gain junior reseachers of doing any social research activity in order to solve any
problem this may exist.
Goal of the Training:

The ultimate goal of this program is to be one of the Skillhup is online plateform which is
necessary essential skill for providing those who are fresh graduated and also senior in order to
raise their soft skills.

This program is oriented for improving Somali young scholar’s whereever and whenever they
are.

Target Audiences:

The target audiences of this program are those who graduated from local universities.

The number of the participants will be 500 Students which is the maximum Fresh University &
Senior Students Graduated. Those who are willing to study research and also wants to gain
research skills.
 Methodology of Training:

Teaching methods include readings, lectures, group discussions, exercises, and assignments.

Lectures are designed such that ensure greater scholar participation.
