Instructional Planning

(The process of systematically planning, developing, evaluating and managing the

instructional process by using principles of teaching and learning - D.O. 42, s. 2016)

Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

Learning Area:
DLP No.: Grade Level: Quarter: Duration: Date:
Science 9 2nd 60 August 18, 2017
Learning Competency/ies: Differentiate basic features and importance of photosynthesis and Code:
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) respiration. S9LT-lg-j-31

Plants have green pigments called chlorophyll stored in the chloroplast. This pigment aids in capturing light energy from the sun that enables plants to
change it into chemical energy stored in the food. This process is called photosynthesis.

4. Procedures
A. Pre-Assesment (LM pg 73-74)
4.1 Introductory Activity B. Motivation
Ask: What are our basic needs? What are our sources of food? How do plants produce
10 minutes foods?

Do activity on “What are the structures involved in the food making process in plants?”
4.2 Activity Each group will make a summary of the different concepts they learned from each learning station.
Learning Station 1. Plant Structure for Photosynthesis.
• Label the parts of a chloroplast and the internal structure of a leaf.
Learning Station 2. Identify the Raw Materials and End Products of Photosynthesis.
• In a tabular form, write the raw materials and end product of photosynthesis.
Learning Station 3. Understanding the Process of Food Making through a video
• After watching the video on “Photosynthesis” make a concept map of the entire process by filling up the figures with the processes
20 minutes involved, raw materials used and end products of the entire process of food making.
Each group will present their output to the class for processing and validating.
