Instructional Planning

(The process of systematically planning, developing, evaluating and managing the

instructional process by using principles of teaching and learning - D.O. 42, s. 2016)

Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

Learning Area:
DLP No.: Grade Level: Quarter: Duration: Date:
Science 9 2nd 110 9/11/2017
Learning Competency/ies: determine the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in a Code:
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) particular atom; S8MT-IIIe-f-10

Key Concepts / Understandings to The development of the atomic model started way back 400 B.c. It started with Democritus [atomos] followed by Dalton [billard ball], Thompson
[plum- pudding], Rutherford [ nuclear], Bohr [ planetary], de Broglie [ wave], Scrodinger & Heisenberg [ quantum mechanical]. As of this time an atom
be Developed is thought to have a nuclues which contains the proton and neutron, surounding the nucleus are the electrons.

Adapted Cognitive Process

Domain Dimensions (D.O. No. 8, s. 2015) OBJECTIVES:
Knowledge Remembering
The fact or
condition of knowing
something with familiarity
gained through experience Understanding identify the different scientist involves in the development of the atomic model
or association

Applying describe the contribution of each scientist

Skills
The ability
and capacity acquired through
deliberate, systematic, and Analyzing
sustained effort to smoothly
and adaptively carryout
complex activities or the Evaluating
ability, coming from one's
knowledge, practice, aptitude,
etc., to do something Creating make a timeline on the evolution of the atomic model

Attitude Responding to show cooperation in doing the activity

Phenomena

Values Responding to practice cleanliness and outmost care in respective working area
Phenomena

2. Content ATOMIC THEORY

3. Learning Resources video clip on theatomic theory, powerpoint presentation,

4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity A. Pre-assessment. Refer to S9LM pp. 99.
B. Ask: How you ever wondered what are stuff made of? If you have, what are stuff made of? How sure are you with
15 minutes your answer? [ Several scientist have tried to explain what are stuff made of. Thier discoveries gives rise to the Atomic Theory]

4.2 Activity Library/research works. The students in their respective groups will be task to research about the atomic thoery and the sciecntist
behind the evolution of the atomic model. They will be given time to have their research/ readings at the science library. After whcih
30 minutes they are going to presnet the results of thier research in a creative manner.

4.3 Analysis 1. Who are these sciecntist who made great contribution to the development of the model of an atom? 2. What are their
contributions?
10 minutes
4.4 Abstraction
A video clip on Atomic Theroy will be shown to the class to be followed by a discussion using a powerpoint presentation.
20 minutes
4.5 Application
What do think will happen to us without the contributions of these scientist? Whould it affect us in any way? How?
10 minutes
4.6 Assessment
Anlysis of Learners' Products Construct a timeline of the evolution of the atomic model.
15 minutes
4.7 Assignment
Preparing for the new lesson Explain Bohr's atomic model.
5 minutes
4.8 Concluding Activity
"Do not trust an atom. They make up everything."
5 minutes
5.      Remarks
6.      Reflections
A.  No. of learners who earned 80% in the C.   Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught up with
evaluation. the lesson.
B.   No. of learners who require additional activities
D.  No. of learners who continue to require remediation.
for remediation.

E.   Which of my learning strategies worked well?

Why did these work?

F.   What difficulties did I encounter which my

principal or supervisor can help me solve?

G.  What innovation or localized materials did I

use/discover which I wish to share with other
