Course Syllabus: Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning Plan

Delving into the Principles of Ethical behavior in modern society at the level of the person, society, and in interaction with the environment and
other shared resources. Fundamentally imbibing the following:
1. The first part lays the groundwork-the meaning of ethics-and leads the students through the analysis of human experience, linking it to
elements of the ethical dimension. Recognizing ethics as a significant dimension of human existence by way of exploring and engaging in
careful ethical thinking.
2. The second part takes the students through the various classical ethical frameworks-utilitarianism, deontological ethics, virtue ethics, and

natural (law) ethics. These frameworks also embed sets of values that students may arrive with a thorough and in-depth examination in order to
arrive at an understanding of the different ways that these theories provide us an avenue of determining ethical valuation.
3. Finally, it guides the students through analysing and evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the various ethical frameworks and their value
to human life and society as they involved in an extensive engagement of these classical ethical theories with the real-life issues that confront us,
calling for moral deliberation. The end goal is for us to be able to make informed decisions and judgments on significant concerns after careful
thought.

1. Knowledge
1.1 Identify the ethical aspect of human life, using appropriately the terms that are
relevant to ethical thinking, and critique the different ethical theories and models such as
Utilitarianism, Natural Law, Kantian deontology, and Aristotelian Ethics.
2. Skills
2.1 Manage one’s knowledge, skills, and values for responsible and productive living as
honed to organize one’s self for lifelong learning with competence and efficiency in all
levels of human existence in an authentic and practically skilled individuals.
3. Values
3.1 Demonstrate critical, analytical, and creative thinking by adhering the use of concepts across
the domains of knowledge as can be reflected by way of realizing the examined contemporary
world from both Philippine and global perspectives and taking coherent personal and civic
responsibilities woven in the personal life and being a Filipino called to reflectively critical on
shared concern contributory for a meaningful personal development and societal interaction and
engagement..
