According to Merriam Webster calling is the vocation or profession in which one

customarily engages (Merriam-webster.com, n.d.). A profession is described as an


occupation in which specialized training is required and requires prolonged training
and formal qualifications(Steadman, n.d.).

 Please answer the following questions:

1. Write down the 2 -3 reasons why you were enrolled in the nursing course?
I, honestly, don’t like nursing simply because I know my personality
wouldn’t fit for this job. I’m stubborn and impatient, I’m a very disorganized
person and I can’t even take care of myself; how will I be able to do that to
others? Sincerely speaking, I’m not even loving it until now. People say when
you’re forced into something, it will soon progress and you’ll learn to love it
along the way but until now, I don’t really see it. I’m not shutting any doors
because I’m hoping to get a different perspective about this course in the
future.

Another reason why I accepted in enrolling this course is because it is an


acceptable pre-medical course. My first choice really was BS-MedTech but
obviously, I didn’t take that course. I’ve heard other people say it’s the best pre
med course because it deals and enhances patient-centered relationship even
before entering medical school which is a huge advantage seeing how other
professionals do things at work.

Born in a family wherein a lot of relatives worked abroad as a nurse, I


already have a little knowledge about even when I was younger. Because I
came from a science high school, high expectations were made. I had to live up
to the standards they have imprinted on me. Although, I don’t want it to get
inside my head, it’s still bothering me anyway. All of my relatives who worked
abroad as a nurse were successful and that they were financially stable. They
see nursing as an easy ticket to a pleasant life. I wouldn’t deny that really being
