This document outlines 10 teaching standards and the courses and experiences the author had that relate to each standard. For each standard, 1-2 courses are listed that helped the author learn about that standard, along with a 1-2 sentence description of what was learned in each course or experience. The courses include classes on learner development, learning differences, learning environments, content knowledge, assessment, planning instruction, instructional strategies, professional learning, and leadership. Through these various classes and a field study experience, the author gained knowledge and skills related to all 10 teaching standards.

Standard 1: Learner EDU 101 In these classes, I learned
Development: EDU 264 how children grow, EDUC 2210 develop, and process information. In these classes we learned about several theories that could help all students. Standard 2: Learning EDCI 4620 In two classes I learned Differences EDU 264 about English Language EDCI 3300 students, learning disabilities, and gifted learners and the strategies to help them succeed. In my field study, I am able to apply these strategies for all learners. Standard 3: Learning EDCI 4600 In this class I learned Environments different ways to motivate my students such as creating fun, energetic, and engaging lesson plans. Standard 4: Content EDLI 4500 For these classes I had to Knowledge EDCI 4550 understand the content in EDLI 3500 order to build lessons. The professors were able to break down the content and allow thee students to rebuild in our edTPA lessons. Standard 5: Application EDCI 4190 Every lesson I created of Content such as the Neapod lesson or the ASSURE lesson had to ensure students were using their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Standard 6: Assessment EDCI 3220 I have learned about different assessments and assessment strategies. I have also learned how to use the data from the assessments to drive and readdress instruction. Standard 7: Planning for EDCI 3500 This was my first class Instruction that I used edTPA lesson plans. With assistance from Dr. Bryan we planned a Social Studies lesson. Standard 8: Instructional EDLI 3500 In these classes, I learned Strategies EDCI 4550 how to encourage EDLI 4620 students by developing their critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. I am able to apply these skills to my field study classroom. Standard 9: Professional EDCI 4620 In my field study, I am Learning constantly reflecting on my teaching methods. I encourage student feedback and my mentor’s feedback. Standard 10: Leadership EDCI 4620 In my field study, I am and Collaboration learning how to collaborate with other teachers during planning. I am learning how to have difficult conversations with students and families. I am actively seeking opportunities for growth.
