Subsystem
Subsystem is a group of interconnected and interactive parts that performs an
important job or task as a component of a large system.

List of Subsystems for Library Management System

Subsystems of our library management system are given below –
 Access Management System
 Staff Management System
 Book Information Management System
 Resource and Infrastructure Management System

Description of the subsystems

A brief description of the subsystems of library management system is given
below -

1. Access Management System

The users (Member, Librarian, Admin) have to complete their registration to
access the system first then they can login to the system and logout from it.

2. Staff Management System

Staff Management System contains preserving the attendance and personal
information of every staff, managing their salary and adding new staffs or firing
the old one.

3. Book Information Management System

Out of three users two users have access to Book Information Management
System . A librarian can add book to the system and remove from it. A member
can search, borrow, issue and return book.
4. Resource and Infrastructure Management System
Admin manages all the resources and Infrastructure of the library. Adding new
furniture, electronics devices, fund, books are supervised under his inspection.

Module
A module is a set of standardized parts or independent units that can be used to
construct more complex structure.

Description of modules
A brief description of the subsystems of library management system is given
below –

1.Integrated Access
This module manage all access to the system.

2. Maintenance
Maintaining all resources and infrastructure is included in this module.

3. Information Retrieval
All data and information are being preserved in this system.
Operation
A process or series of acts involved in a particular form of work.

Description of Operation
1.Registration
To use Library Management System software first a person has to be registered in
the site.
2.Login
If registration is completed then it can easily access the System .If Username and
password are matched then they can proceed forward.
3.Logout
In this system user can Logout at any time. By logout the users will go to the
homepage. And the users can again login to access the system.
4.Pay Fine
If anyone return their books lately then the system calculate pay fine.

Algorithm
Step by step procedure designed to perform an operation, and which will lead to
the sought result if followed correctly.

1.Searching Algorithm
To find a particular book or a member this system uses this algorithm.
2.Pattern Matching Algorithm
To secure access into the system username and password information are
checked with the help of this algorithm.

Definition
Service is an operation or facility or function provided by computer software
system to satisfy a need or to achieve or fulfill a demand or goal.
Example
Credit card service for online transaction is a service of banking system.

Description of Services:
1. Manage Attendance of library’s staffs
Admin will manage the attendance of the library’s staffs. This is their daily
attendance.
2.Add Staffs to the Library
Admin will add staffs to the library whenever a new employee joins the library.
3. Fire Staffs
Admin can fire staffs whenever a staff does not follow the behavioral code.
4. Remove Member
Admin can also remove member whenever a member does not follow the
behavioral code.
5. Add Books to the Library Archive
Librarian will add books to the library archive.
6. Remove Books from the Library Archive
Librarian will remove books from the library archive.
7. Search Books from the Library
Member can search books from the library.
8. Provide Library Members to Borrow Book
The members can borrow books using the system.
9. Provide Library Members to Return Book
The members can also return books using the system and have to pay fine if
returning book is delayed.
10. Manage Salary of the Library’s Staffs
Admin will manage salary of the staffs of the library.
