The City will continue to conduct business and provide vital services to its residents while working remotely in
order to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
Residents are encouraged to use the information below, in addition to online and telephone options during the
building closure.
Submit completed application to permitapplication@joliet.gov. A staff member will contact you and provide
direction on the next steps. Payments for permit fees are accepted via phone (credit card) or check via mail:

Business License renewals can be submitted via email, fax or regular mail. Licenses will continue to be received,
processed and mailed as usual. Business owners are welcome to contact the Business Services office with
questions via phone or email. If an In-person meeting is required, an appointment will be made.

Mail to City Hall (150 W. Jefferson, Joliet, IL 60432)
Drop it off into the blue drop box outside the west entrance of City Hall. No cash please.

Pay online: www.joliet.gov or use an automated bank draft.
Local bill payment centers including Walmart Bill Pay Center. Check the Customer Service webpage for a

Liquor and tobacco license renewals can be sent via mail (City Hall-Attn: Liquor Commissioner
150 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL 60432) or dropped off in the utility payment box located outside the west entrance
of City Hall. Licenses will continue to be received, processed and mailed as usual. Residents are welcome to
contact the Liquor/Tobacco office with questions at 815-724-3710. If an in-person meeting is required an
appointment will be made.

All emergency services for the Joliet Police Department remain fully operational. Call 911 with emergencies.
Both Police Departments (150 W. Washington and west sub-station at 7196 W. Caton Farm Rd.) will be closed to
the public. A phone number will be posted on the front door of the downtown station (150 W. Washington) for
residents to call and talk to a Clerk. Entry will be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
