Care Control Clarify Challenge Captivate Confer Consolidate

Yes Maybe No

What areas are your strengths?

From looking at the graph above it is clear the control, care, and confer are some of my
strengths. The graph show that I received the most “yes” response and least “no” responses for in
these areas.

How do you display these strengths in class?

I care a lot about these students and I try to show them. In the morning meetings I also
take this time to have authentic engagement with them and ask them how they are doing. I also
will talk to them during our break times when they decide not to leave their cameras. I also show
that confer is a strength as well. We have a lot of students who like to share their ideas and what
they like and we try to reserve that sharing time for the break time when it won’t interrupt class
time. A lot of times We will stay in camera talking to the students over break because then it will
give then the time they wanted to share their ideas or off topic thoughts. If the students have
questions, they know they can ask then during the lesson though. Control is also a strength.

What area(s) are weaker for you?

Some of the areas that are weaker for me are to captivate and clarify. I had less “yes”
responses for these areas and I also had more “maybe” and “no” in these areas as well. It shows
that captivate is my lowest.

What can you do to grow in these areas?

I think I have to especially have to look got more resources to have better engage students
over zoom. The students are on over iPad for these long periods on time and while they do get
brain breaks and in between subjects I can tell the engagement is low compared to what it would
be in a classroom. Clarify is also one of my weaker areas on the graph. In this area I had more
“maybe” responses than the other areas especially to the question “My class understands each
topic in class”. I will look checks for understanding to include into my lessons to better
understand who is struggling and who may need me to reexplain the information or not.

Are there any resources that can support your development in this area that you will use? List
them.
