III. Course Overview:

A. Introduction:

Welcome future educators! After taking some professional education courses, you
must have caught the feverish desire to teach and that you must have decided to
pursue teaching as a profession. You won't regret it. Teaching is a many-splendored
thing!

One aspect of teaching that takes much time is preparing an instructional material.
“How do we prepare it?”” When and where do we start?” These must be some of the
questions that popped in your head. We went through the same predicament. You
don't have to worry; this course is here to guide you. This is specially design to help
would be professional teachers make their classes come alive by the full an
appropriate use of educational technologies in their experiential, constructivist and
integrative if teaching approaches.

This course, if they can seriously, it can give an answer to your need for instructional
materials. Definitely, it cannot be a panacea. but it can be of great help.

B. Course Description:
An introductory course that explores basic knowledge, skills and values in the use of
technology in various content areas, learning theories and principles in the use and
design of learning lessons, teaching-learning experiences and assessment tasks that
utilize and design appropriate traditional and innovative technologies with social,
ethical and legal responsibilities. The utilization and evaluation of various
technologies and traditional methods and their appropriateness for the curriculum
will be emphasized.

C. Course Learning Outcomes: After completing this course, the student-teachers


should be able to:
1. Use technology to facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
2. Design and develop traditional and digital age learning experiences and assessments
3. Identify and apply traditional and technology resources to enable and empower learners
with diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and abilities.
4. Evaluate the effectiveness of traditional and computer-based teaching and learning
experiences through various theoretical frameworks.

5. Develop an electronic portfolio that includes examples of teaching with traditional and
technology projects.
6. Enhance learning using a wide variety of materials and human and technological
resources
7. Use educational technology to broaden student knowledge about technology, to deliver
instruction to students at different levels and paces, and to stimulate advanced levels of
learning
8. Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans that include methods and strategies to
maximize learning that incorporate a wide variety of materials and technology resources.
9. Plan for the management of technology resources within the context of learning
activities and develop strategies to manage student learning in a technology-integrated
environment.
10. Understand the social, ethical, legal, and human issues surrounding the use of
information and technology and apply that understanding in practice.

V. Course Study Guide:


In order for you to finish this course successfully, it is good to observe important
practices and values.
1. Punctuality. Course requirement will be given ahead of time to give everyone ample
time to complete it. Activities will also have a due date for the teacher to check and
return it for monitoring purposes. With these, requirements and activities should be
submitted on or before the due date.
2. Respect begets respect. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
(Matthew 7:12). When dealing with others, observe humility, tactfulness, and respect
at all times. During exchange of ideas (discussion) whether online or face to face
(video conference) one must respect others opinion.
3. Open Communication. Communication must be HOT (Honest, Open, and Two-
way) (Dan Oswald). All concern related to the course should be brought to my
attention.
4. Be productive. Accomplish what you can today. Tomorrow is another day and
another activity.

5. Communicate openly and ethically. When there are clarifications and inquiries you
need to ask, you can contact me via email or phone from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM every
