INTRODUCTION
Overview
The course is designed for the aircraft maintenance engineer to meet the standard of knowledge
required for approval and licensing purposes. The initial entry standard for training is normally holders of
the appropriate Transport Canada M2 license or Part-66 B1 Aircraft maintenance Licences.
The aim of the course is to provide an in depth understanding of the aircraft and its systems. On
completion of the course the student will have sufficient knowledge to enable him/her to satisfactorily
perform the duties of a certifying engineer for the above aircraft and to apply for issue or extension of a
company authorisation, subject to all other TC conditions and company requirements being satisfied.
Examinations will be held at intervals through the course. These will be of the multi-choice type and
a non-penalty marking system will be used. A minimum of 70% is required on each examination.
A certificate will be issued at the end of each course to each student who has satisfactorily completed
the course and has passed all the examinations.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Training Course is a CAR 566.18 company approved Type course.
Upon successful completion and with regulatory agency approval, the technician may receive aircraft
maintenance certification privileges for the Cessna 550/551/560 (PWC JT15D)The course is 10 days in
length and focuses on the tasks required of the aircraft engineer operating in a line and base
maintenance environment. The course provides extensive training on airframe and power plant systems
as well as line oriented training on the aircraft’s avionics and electrical systems. The course will follow
the subject syllabus.
Training is provided in the English language in the form of classroom lectures as well as supervised
visits to the aircraft type in a maintenance environment. Classroom lectures make use of Computer
Aided Instruction, slides, DVDs and a whiteboard.
Level 1:
A brief overview of the airframe, systems and power plant as outlined in the Systems Description
Section of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual/Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
Level 2:
Basic system overview of controls, indicators, principal components, including their location and
purpose, servicing and minor troubleshooting. General knowledge of the theoretical and practical
aspects of the subject.
Level 3: Detailed description, operation, component location, removal/ installation and bite and
troubleshooting procedures to maintenance manual level.
