Sometimes, there is strength in numbers

Sometimes, the numbers are given strength

Tiny grains of sand make up the entire beach
A small handful of grains is easily moved
It is impossible, however, to move the entire beach
So, there is strength in unity!
Yes, there is strength in unity!

(East meeting West,

city and country cooperating,
women and men in harmony,
a chorus made of all the races,
embrace of rich and poor)

we clasp the tender hopes of all.

To serve a platter of peace

(receive it, smiling,

thankful,
listening with new ears,
seeing with eyes newly wakened)

we find shelter under a larger shade tree.

No one should judge another,

Just because of his colour,
Nor because of his culture,
For therein lies our future.

All should live in harmony;

Put aside greed and envy;
Build a great world together;
Differences do not matter.

Among ourselves we squabble;

The sands beneath us wobble;
Is it not time we unite?
For in unity is might.

Maybe it's the way the national flag flies so high

Despite the country's imperfections
We know the popular proverb
'United we stand, divided we fall'
Ten's sticks together unbreakable,
Can break easily if distributed to all.

Wind easily blows the dust

But cannot move the rock.
Birds trapped in net; they united,
Along with net flew the flock.

As well, If people are united

For valid and right cause;
There can't be any reason:
Their efforts will pause.

United we stand a family of one

Joy and laughter with lots of fun
Caring enough to lend a helping hand
Showing respect as much as we can

Divided  we fall the love we will always share
Sometimes wander if they still care
Feeling so far apart from what we had
Joining together through the good times and bad

Maybe it's the way we're united

Not separated, despite the difference in cultures,

Believes, traditions, languages

Maybe it's the way you see an Indian eating with chopsticks,
The way you see a Malay in a saree,
The way you see a Chinese making ketupat's for Hari Raya.

Maybe it's the unity you see,

Maybe it's the goosebumps you feel when you say Merdeka,
Maybe despite the hate you have towards history,
Deep down, you know how grateful you are to be Malaysian.

Maybe it's the way you walk into a mamak,

And say
" tauke tapau roti canai 1 milo ais 99 "
And maybe,
It lies in diversity,
Beyond everything else.

For the sky is blue the earth is green

And we should find harmony in all between.
As different streams find their way to the sea
So it is with all the differences in theology,
There should be no reason for singular entitlement,
As all faiths seek the same road to enlightenment.

I believe that this small but powerful word unity

Defines that in divergence there can be parity.

I starred at mankind and sketched my vision

In this World I see million of divison
Some in the name of religion
Some in the name of region .

There shouldn’t be this much difference

As god’s love for everyone is immense
Everyone is same, no one is different
And in each and everyone god is present

The more we create difference

The more we degrade our essence
Oneness is the only way to success
Only togetherness can bring happiness.

Every difficulty we can fight

If everyone of us will unite
Every problem can be solved easily
As there is immense strength in unity …..

When I was a child

My mother told this story

Many a times.

That a teacher asked his students

To pick up a single branch on hand

And break it, which they did well.

The students were giggling

Among themselves for

Easily succeeding in the test.

When their teacher brought

A bundle of sticks and asked

To try their whole strength.

Startled were they all

At the nuisance the teacher requested

Them to fulfill.

Thoughts were smashing

Amidst the wall of their globe

To find a way to do the impossible.

Then the teacher smiled and said

It's easy to break the single

But unity emerges victor, always.

So even though we have diverse religion

Hold your hands and be united

In the universal religion of humanity.

There is no religion as big as it

And no practice as precise as it

For life and death encompasses in itself.
