Name of Teacher: Aleta, Michelle

Tarongoy, Marylin B.
Learning Area: Mathematics Grade Level: 7 Quarter: 3
Learning Competency/ies: Classifies the different kinds of angles. M7GE-IIIa-3
Key Understandings to be developed: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric relationships.
I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
A. Cognitive: Identifies the kind of angle being presented.
B. Affective: Appreciates the concepts on different kinds of angle.
C. Psychomotor: Create a Geo-City using the different kinds of angle.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

A. Topic: Different kinds of Angle
B. Instructional Materials: Protractor, Ruler, Paper, Writing
materials(pencil/pen/pentelpen), Coloring materials, Handouts.
C. References: Complete Maths Guide with practice pp. 123-126.

III. Methodology/Procedure:
Introductory Activity
• Prayer
• Shift mates
• Presentation of the objectives.
Lesson Procedure:
A. Pre - Lesson
The teacher will conduct a drill on classifying the different kinds of angle.
B. Lesson Proper
 The teacher will start the actual discussion by informing the students that
the picture shows the different kinds of angles and explain to them of what
an angle is. These different kinds of angles are the following: Acute angle,
Right angle, Obtuse angle and reflexive angle and Straight angle.

 The teacher will ask the students:

What is the measurement of an acute angle?
… the measurement of a right angle?
… the measurement of an obtuse angle?
… the measurement of a straight angle?
… the measurement of a reflex angle?

 The teacher will discuss to the students that the angle measures < 90° is a
acute angle, then, the angle measures equal to 90° is a right angle, then, the
angle measures 90° < angle < 180° is an obtuse angle, then, angle that
measures 180° < angle < 360° is a reflex angle and lastly, the angle measures
equal to 180° is a straight angle.

 The teacher will inform the students the important terms and concepts to
remember which is provided in the handouts given.

1. An angle is formed when 2 lines intersect. The point of

intersection is known as the vertex, while the lines are known
as sides of the angles.
2. Angles are measured in degrees (°)
3. Angles can be classified into 4 different categories:
(a) Acute angles
Angle < 90°

(b) Right angles

Angle = 90°

(c) Obtuse angles

90° < angle < 180°
(d) Reflex angles
180° < angle < 360°

(e) Straight angles

Angle = 180°

 The teacher will also let students define each term/ concept according to
the discussion.

C. Post Lesson

 The teacher will provide an activity for the students. The teacher will group
the students into with four members in each group. Each group is tasked to
make a Geo-City using the different kinds of angles. (Geo-City is a futuristic
presentation tool of an interactive urban- and geo-information system that
provides interesting and unusual insights into the city and its functions.)

Value Integration:
“Always try clothes on before you buy them. Stand, sit, walk and inspect yourself
from all angles before you buy it so you don't regret it later. Knowing what it
looks like on you is very important, as your body shape must suit the cut of the
outfit.”
