The effects of global warming

During these last years, our planet has suffered serious consequences regarding
environmental pollution, one of them is global warming. The gradual increase in
temperature is known as global warming that alters the composition of the world
atmosphere, generating sudden changes in the climate.  The planet earth has
natural cycles which have certain times of duration, among these are climatic
changes. Global warming greatly affects the earth.

An important cause of why these changes occur is the greenhouse effect, which
is basically the composition of different gases that retain heat within the
atmosphere so that a correct temperature can be maintained, from this it is
necessary that there be a balance in the emission of these gases. However, the
daily activities of the human being as an unsustainable lifestyle that involves the
great exploitation of raw material. The second cause is the burning of fossil fuels,
which accounts for a quarter of the increase in carbon dioxide on earth. According
to the Intergovernmental group of experts on climate change (ICC), she mentioned
that human influence is a major cause of the greenhouse effect from past times
until now, which has been increasing. Among the main gases that cause global
warming are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone.

Among the different consequences that occur, the most serious ones are those
related to changes in temperature. The first consequence is the increase in
temperature of 0.6 °C causing the oceans to expand and the rise in sea level to go
from 10 to 12 centimeters. The second consequence is extreme weather
phenomena such as heavy rains, droughts and heat waves. The third
consequence is the melting of the ice or melting of the polar caps, which causes a
rise in sea level and the loss of habitat for many animals, one of them is the polar
bear. The fourth consequence is the drying up of the forests produced by the
variation of arid areas such as deserts. The last consequence is related to the flora
and fauna, which many times are not able to adapt to new climatic conditions,
causing them to spread easily.

In conclusion, global warming is a great danger for the Earth since there has
been a high rate of extinction of flora and fauna on the planet, affecting global well-
being and future generations. We are the ones who can generate a positive
change by reducing the emission of toxic waste so that global warming rates can
be reduced.
