Give non-exact numerical answers correct to 3 significant figures, or 1 decimal place in the
case of angles in degrees, unless a different level of accuracy is specified in the question.

3 (a) A rectangle has length of (5 – 4x) m and breath of x m. Calculate the range of values of x

8 (a) Find ∫ sin π x dx [2]

(b) The figure below shows two curves y = f(x) and y = g(x) intersecting at three points (0,0), (1,2)
and (2,0) for 0 ≤ x ≤ 2. It is given that f(x) – g(x) = 2 sin πx.
Find the area of the shaded region as shown in the figure. [4]

9 (a) The function f is defined by f : x 6 x 2 − 6 x + 5 for the domain 0 ≤ x ≤ 7 .

(i) Sketch the graph of f and hence state the range of f for the given domain [3]

(i) Calculate the co-ordinates of E. [1]
