Title: GLOBAL PRACTICES OF AN ARCHITECT

I. INTRODUCTION

Architecture firms of all sizes can reach around the world with the impacts of globalization.
This is due to the fact that global architecture resulted from the global practices of an
architect which constructs buildings in a universally appealing design. That attracts those
from other countries and regions. Internationalization is a key to globalization. Though
advocating and welcoming influences from different countries with new methods, and
technologies, one's identity must still be pushed through.

II. DISCUSSION

The United Architects of the Philippines or UAP is transforming from a national group into a
global entity that bridges cultures and geographies. A global UAP will serve as abridge to
provide knowledge and understanding of the global practice of architecture and will build a
professional level of standards through its governance, corporate and social responsibilities.
According to the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture Member, Hon. Robert M.
Mirafuente, "We just need to prepare professionally and be globally competitive by
consistently educating ourselves".
It has always been true that architecture is a product of science, engineering, and art. That is
why balancing these three is an essential part of the process. Because of this, one must
understand technology, understand the materials (particularly sustainable materials),
understand the methodology, and must know how to translate it graphically. That's why it
must be emphasized that understanding style and documentation must be fulfilled in order
to meet global standards.

III. CONCLUSION

In the end, resistance and disagreements in terms of design and implementation are always
present. There are also arising problems from the very local levels of the government in
terms of urban planning, zoning, and tourism, as well as the Building Code. In order for the
global practice of an architect to be effective, these problems must be attended and
addressed to.
