What you've got

=====================================
You have a TEST version (completely unsupported by IMVU) of IMVU exporters for 3
DS Max.
These were compiled by Dan Jones (aka Nerseus on IMVU) based on the Cal3D Open S
ource code.
The exporters provided by IMVU ONLY work in 3ds Max 7 and 8.
These exporters are for exporting IMVU objects from 3ds Max 9 and 3ds Max 2008.
3ds Max 2009 is not supported by these plugins.
=====================================
Installing
=====================================
The easiest way to install the plugins is to run the included BAT file.
The BAT file simply copies the DLL and DLE file to your Max 9 and/or Max 2008
folders and deletes older copies of any cal3d plugins it finds from those folder
s.
It will NOT touch the plugins in your Max 7 or Max 8 folders.
Feel free to open the BAT file in notepad to see what it does.
I strongly suggest you use the supplied BAT file to copy/install files for you.
The rest of these "install" instructions are only if you would like to copy/dele
te
things manually.

This zip included two files:

ner_cal3d.dll
ner_cal3d_max_exporter.dle
These files need to be copied to 3ds Max:
* The DLL will go in the "root" max install folder
* The DLE will go in the "plugins" subfolder of your max install
For 3ds Max 9, the default install folder for Max itself:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\
You will need to copy the 2 files to:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\ner_cal3d.dll
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\plugins\ner_cal3d_max_exporter.dle
NOTE: Delete any of the following files if they exist.
If these are not removed, they will cause errors while starting up
3ds Max:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\cal3d.dll
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\cal3d_d.dll
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\plugins\cal3d_max_exporter.dle
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\plugins\cal3d_max_exporter_DL3D.dle

Bonus
=====================================
All exporters now DEFAULT to the X** version of the files.
That is, when you've selected your export type (skeleton, mesh, etc), simply
type the filename. The extension will default to .XSF, .XMF, etc. instead of
the CSF, CMF, etc. counterparts.
