P osi ve Displacement Blowers by virtue of their characteris cs are noisy. Suc on of air from the
atmosphere and its transfer to the discharge line causes noise genera on. The noise of a blower
depends on many factors such as opera ng speed, suc on & discharge pressure, blower installa on
room/site condi ons, etc. The mechanical noise of the blower is negligible & most of the noise generated by
the blower is the air borne noise. Noise is an irritant, however, can be effec vely treated. Everest is proud to
share the most effec ve noise containment methods based on our past experience at various customer sites.

Acous c Hoods:
Installa on of blower motor assembly in an acous c hood helps in further reduc on of noise generated due to the suc on of the
air from the atmosphere. In case mul ple blower are installed inside a common blower room, the room itself can be acous cally
treated. This proves out to be more economical since individual acous c hoods for each blower assembly are not required.

Further reduc on of noise can be achieved by trea ng the discharge line to bring down the pipeline vibra ons caused due to the
pulsa ng flow of a Posi ve Displacement Blower. The blower discharge line should be adequately supported to minimize pipeline
vibra ons. Addi onally the discharge line should be isolated from the blower through use of flexible connectors at the discharge of
the blower. Noise generated due to pipeline vibra ons can be effec vely treated by covering the discharge lines with minimum 100
mm thick mineral wool sheets of 18-23 kg/m3 density which should be further reinforced with aluminum cladding. This would bring
down the discharge line noise dras cally. Very encouraging results have been observed at various customer sites where this
technique has been adopted. Pictures of discharge line acous c treatment are enclosed for reference.
