Hey guys, I’m hoping any of you have knowledge with the Suomi KP-31 kit build? My questions are... If I
build the parts kit and "Finnish" it (sorry for the pun) with the receiver rebuild, won’t it be a semi to fully auto
make when complete? Or do I have to change something in the build to make it semi auto, and what is it I
have to do to make it that way. I definitely want to build it to legal standards but just wanting to know this
due to the fact that it is an originally semi/full auto gun.

for the soumi

a full auto is illegal , a semi from a parts kit legal most places as far as i know but i'm Australian , but built
kits when in the USA

the soumi you have to weld in a block that will re-engage the disconnector if the trigger is still in the
d iti t k 14 14 4 bl k f t l
rearward position you take a 14mm x 14mm x 4mm block of steel

grind a corner off @ 45 Deg and position that 2mm infront of the disconnector and round the bottom of the
corner of the disconnector so its smooth on the slide up

just from memory , you'll have to position this so the disconnector rides up and along the block so the mech
dont come forward again if the trigger still being held down (back)

oh and they generally cut the trunnion on the soumi too so you'll have to remake one

Hey thanks Jack for your words on this. I have had not much luck on finding the info I need for this. Anyway
I have heard that there is an 80% receiver you can buy that is a little smaller than the original size when
finished. Suposedly this makes it semi automatic also and how? Any thoughts on this?

For all of the time you will spend building a semi-auto from a parts kit, you might as well buy a M31 semi
auto from TNW. I had to re-design the firing pin and fix a few other things but all of that was nothing
compared with the money and time it would take to build one from scratch.
