Simple Inbound Delivery Process - EWM

In this case, we have just taken an example for simple inbound where there is no warehouse
activity. So, following are the steps will be followed.

In this case, we have just taken an example for simple inbound where there is
no
warehouse activity. So, following are the steps will be followed.

1.      Create PO - ECC
2.      Create Inbound Delivery document – ECC
3.      Maintain Inbound Delivery Notification – EWM
4.      Create Inbound Delivery Document – EWM (It is called ware house
request)
5.      Create warehouse task for putaway (Planning of goods movement -
Similar to goods movement in ECC)
6.      Confirm warehouse task and order – When confirm the warehouse task,
no need to give the destination storage type since it is not required
for his case. This is required only for POSC. The warehouse task and
the warehouse order has different numbers.
7.      Goods receipt is done automatically, and the stock are updated in ECC
system

Note: We can also perform the goods receipt. Then we can create the warehouse
task for putaway and then confirm. In this case, the stocks are received in
RECV storage location in ECC once the confirmation is done. Then it will be
moved to SALE after the putaway is confirmed.
1.     Create PO – ME21N – ECC
2. Create Inbound Delivery – VL31N – ECC
3.  Maintain inbound delivery notification in EWM
T-Code - /SCWM/IDN - Maintain Inbound Delivery Notification

To search the IBN, we can search using PO number, Inbound delivery document number and
ASN.
4.     Create Inbound Delivery

Config Settings for Inbound delivery in EWM

Inbound Delivery is created using PPF actions – Post processing framework

SPRO - Extended Warehouse Management - Goods Receipt Process - Inbound Delivery -
Manual Settings - Define Document Types for Inbound Delivery Process

SPRO – EWM – Cross process settings - Warehouse Task - Define Warehouse Process Type
5.     Create warehouse task
Check stock quantity in ECC – MMBE
Also see from the PO

Go to inbound delivery document and check the document flow.

Check the stock in EWM

Go to Warehouse monitor – Stock and Bin - Physical Stock

QRFC Connection (Between ECC and EWM)
Setup complete

These settings will be done by basis consultants.

SCM integration is possible from ECC4.6 version.
From Version 9.0 EWM can be standalone.
ECC – System 1
SCM – EWM – System 2
Two different systems are recommended for better performance

Though these are done by basis consultants, as a functional EWM consultant

you must have knowledge about these settings in order to understand the system
landscape. This helps you to resolve integration issues

Please see the below step by step configuration.

Basic Settings for Setting Up the System Landscape - ECC

Settings for qRFC Communication – Purely basis activity -
ECC

Basic Settings for Data Transfer - ECC

Basic Settings for Creating the System Landscape - EWM

Please see the below screen shot where all the similar configurations in
both the systems are highlighted in yellow.
These highlighted configuration in EWM will be done similarly as we did in ECC
system above.

Note:
Blue screen - ECC system
Light brown screen - EWM system
Name Logical Systems – Same as ECC

Assign Logical Systems to a Client – Same as ECC

Settings for qRFC Communication – Purely basis activity -
EWM
Basic Settings for Data Transfer - EWM
EWM - Extended Ware house management

System Requirements: Two separate systems are required to implement EWM

solution.
1.     SAP ECC
2.     SAP SCM – EWM
These two systems are connected through qRFC.
EWM can be used as a standalone system – from 9.0 version
EWM – Latest version is 9.4. From the version 9.2 to till now there are no
major
changes.
In S4 HANA 1610 – SCM is Integrated with ECC. Hence we would be using just one
system
for ECC and SCM.

Introduction
EWM control ware house activities like picking, posting (putaway), manage
storage
bins, good receipt and goods issue.

Efficiently manage inventory
Supporting processing of goods movement

EWM Terminologies
·        Putaway –Putting the items in the storage bins is called putaway. It
is
used in inbound process / GR.
·        Picking –Removal of material from the storage bin. It is used in
outbound process / GI.
·        ASN – Advanced shipping notification. After the PO is raised, the
vendor
will send ASN to us. Based on the ASN, we will plan the labour and other
resources.
·        Unloading – When the material arrives to gate --> parking --> yard
-->
door (here the unloading activities are performed) --> staging
area(intermediate
location) --> storage type --> storage section --> storage bin
·        Loading – from door to truck
·        Handling Unit – This includes the packing materials + product box +
product
·        Nested Handling Unit – It is the group of handling unit which are
packed in the big carton.
·        Storage Bin – Where the materials are located

EWM Documents
·        Warehouse request – Inbound / outbound delivery document in EWM
·        Warehouse task – Planning for goods movement
·        Warehouse order – Executable work package in EWM. Work order can be
created only based on the warehouse request. It will not be created directly.

create inbound delivery, inbound delivery notification.

the pallets, packings and so on.
