Lead a morning meeting.
Students will participate in a morning meeting and greet and share thoughts with the class to make
connections.
Students will have met my objectives if they have participated with cameras on, muted while others are
speaking, and sharing when it’s their turn.

Time Who is I will be creating a “morning” meeting slideshow that begins with a morning
responsible message welcoming them to class and reminding them of the rules. I will read the

1-2 min Teacher “Good afternoon Mrs. Angelo’s class! I am so happy to see your beautiful
faces today! Thank you for always making my Tuesdays so happy. I want to
remind you of the expectations during this ​afternoon​ meeting: please have
your cameras on with mics muted while others are speaking, and please
participate by ​actually​ raising your hand s​ o I can see who would like to
share, or type in the chat box for me to read for you!​ W ​ hen you raise your
hand, do it like this (I will demonstrate an example).”
5 min Students The next slide will say​ “I want you to think about something positive that
happened to you recently.” ​I will say “​ Take a minute to think about
something good and positive that happened to you either yesterday, today,
a few days ago, or maybe even a month ago.”
The next slide will be the greeting. ​I will have my example on the slide as well.
Students will have the option to share aloud or in the chat.
“Now is time for our greeting! Here is ​an example of ​ how I would like you to
do it: Good afternoon, my name is ​Miss Wilk​, and something positive that
happened to me recently is​ I got a good grade on a quiz​. After your turn, pick
a friend who​ is raising their hand like I showed you (I will demonstrate
again)​ to have a turn. ​You can also share your thoughts in the chat.​”
1-2 min Teacher After the greeting will be the share. My CT suggested the topic be about sacrifice
because the guidance counselor has made that a topic throughout the school.
“​Now I would like you to think about the word “sacrifice”.​ I know e-learning
must be ​a different experience​ for a lot of you. It has affected me as well
because I am doing online school too. Making sacrifices to protect myself
and my family meant that I gave up a lot of things I love to do, such as
hanging out with my friends or going out to eat.​ I want you to think about
sacrifices you have made this year, for example, not being able to eat lunch
in the cafeteria or not being able to see Mrs. Angelo in person. After you

think about it, we will share our thoughts with each other. Please remember
to have cameras on and mics muted so I can see that you are thinking.​”

5 min Students After the video will be the share slide. Students can raise hands or share in the
chat box.
“Think about any sacrifices you have made this year being e-learning
students. ​You can raise your hand like I showed you or type in the chat box
for me to share for you.​”

1 min Teacher After the students share will be the conclusion slide. I will include a funny picture
to make them laugh and end on a positive note.
“Thank you all for participating in my ​afternoon​ meeting! I am so thankful
to be able to spend my Tuesdays getting to know each and every one of you.
Remember you are all loved, special, and are going to grow up to do
amazing things!”

If at any point students do not follow expectations, I will indirectly signal that
they need to be following directions. I will do this by calling out students who
ARE doing what they are supposed to. For example:
“I love the way ___ is thinking and how I can see them with their cameras
on.”
“Thank you ___ and ___ for having cameras on and mics muted while others
are sharing.”
