Philosophy of Education

I have always been passionate about wanting to be a teacher and I believe it is the
perfect fit for me because it brings me so much joy and fulfillment. Education is
something everyone needs and school can be very stressful and extremely hard at
times and I truly believe that the teachers can really help students by being supportive
and being understanding. Teachers have the power to set the mood of the whole
classroom and can really help their students have a healthy mind.
I will make the management plan based on the body for example listening bodies
because I want to teach kindergarten, therefore I want them to learn body parts and the
five senses. Being a bilingual teacher is going to help me relate to the students more
because most spanish speaking people have similar beliefs and are alike in culture. I
would like to extend my students' information about other cultures and races. I will learn
about many different latin cultures because I want to fully understand everything about
their beliefs and actions and so I can have a better connection with them. I will try my
best to know what learning style works best for the whole class and I would like to do
stations where each station has a different learning style and see which one the
students are being more successful in and it will also help me see how they understand
instructions the best way. Either way I would still like to switch up the styles once in a
while because once they move on, it is not going to be the same all the time. I would
incorporate technology in my classroom by using the projector everyday because in the
morning I would like to put up a quote of the day or a positive little message. I love when
the children can see the book close up in the screen projector therefore we can read
and see the images together. I really enjoyed using the ClassDojo app, and my mentor
showed it to me because the children truly get motivated by the app because it gives
themes points and it helps the teacher to keep things organized. Students can learn fast
at times but when they do not, I would like to offer tutoring or extra help by separating
the students that are struggling. I then will slow the pace because I would like for all the
children to catch up and for others to not get behind.
My main goal in my career is going to become a good teacher and not just a basic
teacher that just cares about grades and not about the students mental health and
emotions. I want to become a teacher that my students can always rely on because life
can be tough outside of school and I want my classroom to be a safe space with me. It
makes me happy that I am going to be a bilingual teacher because as a child I struggled
a lot in school because I did not learn english fully until I was in third grade and I at
times felt bullied by other children and sometimes even teachers that were not bilingual
because they would get frustrated. I feel like it is so bad for a child's self esteem for a
teacher to make a child feel guilty for not understanding english when the child
obviously is still learning. I want to change that and help my future students to know the
basics right away and for them to help each other by making friends with the other
classes that are not bilingual. I want my future students to like learning and enjoy
school.
