there r so many things abt people mgmt which need to be taken care properly
example - right person for rite work; at rite time & rite cost;
rite skills, rite attitude. starting from finding rite people to seeing that they play their role for Co
helping them with various aspects training, motivation, processes. India is a growing economy
growth will fuel more jobs in sectors such as technology, infrastructure . to help Cos manage their
best resources well, HR people can contribute effectively. fuelling growth means more growth.
various sectors are doing well Infrastructure means projects in roads, construction, bridges, energy
& so on technology can mean IT, Telecom, Biotech etc. India is doing quite well.
Another imp pt for u cud be that u are comfortable dealing with people & various issues connected
with them ,these cud be motivation, team relationships, understanding training needs, helping with
processes etc. of course u know that u wud hv to deal with various level of people - new, seniors,
technical, non-technical; highly skilled; different age group etc.
This makes it interesting & challenging Being good listener & patient approach cn be good strngths
as HR professional. These days some buzzwords also are popular Like people development; people
managment;people oriented etc.
There are cos. who like to follow a people first approach - some not all most still say Customer first!
With times HR is touching many other important issues like employee welfare & family welfare;
help with work life balance needs of employees take part in identifying fast trcak or slow track
people ,Help management to reward fast track & guide slow track
hv awarenes of global best practices & standards - for compensation (means salary packages & perks
etc.); motivation techniques; training methods etc.
HR plays vital role in keeping a co going; growing; remaining vibrant and also competitive in market
handling employee problems or grievances is also important. This way u help with cos productivity
or efficiency
example> the cos. who come to ur campus hv mix of HR, Tech & Mgmt team
They look at candidates but candidates also look at them here, they are presenting their cos. & one
aspect is HR - how smart, professional & impressive can they be
ur ability to mix well with people, ur hving watched ur dad handling various aspects of business,
in bba go to project if that becomes specific & they start to show some interest
u talk more on the FMproject, talk about content (what kind of programs) , talk abt services
(advertising via FM radio etc.)
this is related to project, briefly touch upon ur hobbies – splly pet care
Cos. can advertise thru programs of slots so they hv programs or content and then they hv services
see Oman radios are not offering much services now ,so u found & analysed & recommended they
run competitions & offer prizes etc. - sponsored by companies - gift hampers & all; dining coupons
etc.
if u cn also link that u learned something valuable or enjoyed doing something - this cn also be
helpful
not just physical part - but organizing, task distribution & coordinating with faculty or guide etc.
example: due to schedule clash at SIBM & ur college u faced challenge to finish project earlier this
needed team support & faculty support u managed both successfully
how u explained the facts to all concerned ,u put in extra effort personally to speed up things -
ended up doing more but felt good bcoz u learnt more also
if possible make this part in PI as conversational & go with short sentences. it shud be like a short
interesting story - finshing early - making listener feel something nice & positive - feel good type.
Idea is not to make it sound too heavy got to take care that u don’t say much negative abt anything
Example which experience was better? India or outside
if u stick to that u learnt from both - u were growing & approached as a learner then ok
also family hd been at both places so in many basic things no diff.
