Advice From Umm Salamah’ As’ Salafiyyah to
The Sisters Who Give Da’wah in The West

As Allâh , has commanded us to have sincerity, and the following of the Prophet
, following the Book and the Sunnah, those who are most happy among all the
people are those who are following the Book and the Sunnah of the Messenger .
They are the Firaqun-tun-Naajiyyah [the saved sect], and Ahl-us-Sunnah wal
Jamaa’ah.
In addition, to this understanding they also were concerned about acting upon the
Qur’ân and Sunnah. From the principles of those who follow their desire without
Allâh’s guidance, the Salaf would be caution of it.

Allâh is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared

is the supreme success.”

This was what made them unique, they followed the Book of Allâh and the Sunnah
of the Messenger of Allâh . From among that which is unique to this Daw’ah, the
Daw’ah-tus- Salafiyyah is to give priority and concern in seeking knowledge.

Allâh , mentioned the knowledge before the deed. The proof is:

This is what makes us unique from the deviant groups because they are not

Advice From Umm Salamah’ As’ Salafiyyah to
The Sisters Who Give Da’wah in The West

So guiding this young man and clarifying it to him it instills in him the correct
Aqeedah. In fact the Daw’ah of the Prophet , was nothing but the Daw’ah to the
Tawheed of Allâh . Likewise, the Messenger of Allâh , he used to send the
people to teach, and he would send his companion to another city to establish the
correct Aqeedah, and Ahl-us- Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah gives importance to the
correctness of the Aqeedah.

For those who gather the people and say they have a lot of people and power, as for
Ahl-us- Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah they call to Allâh , and rectify their Aqeedah, guide
the people and give them direction.
From among the things that make Ahl-us- Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah unique is to warn
against the Bid’ah and its people and avoiding and staying away from their sittings.

“Whoever introduce into our matter (religion) that which is not a part of it will have it

There is no good Bid’ah, sometimes Bid’ah can lead into Shirk. So staying away
from Ahl-ul- Bid’ah, the one who sits with the righteous person is like the one who
sells the musk and the one who sits with Ahl-ul- Bid’ah will carry a bad smell. Some
of the people came to the Salaf and the Salaf refused to listen to them. And they
would not even listen to an ayah. And he said what if one of them distorted the ayah
and it would stay in your memory.

The principle is that we come together, and we should avoid anything that brings
disunity. This includes those [individuals] who want many people in their groups or
parties, they do not mind if that person is Sufi at all and we see the affects of it, the
bad consequences of what they are doing to the point that they do not even think
about.

Advice From Umm Salamah’ As’ Salafiyyah to
The Sisters Who Give Da’wah in The West

There has to be one body that calls to the unity, like when Ahul-us-Sunnah is up
against Ahul-Bi’dah the reason for that is to preserve the Deen of Allâh , so that
no misguidance will enter it. The people of Bi’dah have nothing behind them except
an evil. This Bi’dah which caused the splitting of the Muslimeen is the very reason
why Ahul-us-Sunnah warns against this Bi’dah and its people.

Then she ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺎ ﺍﻟﱠﹲﻠ‬‫ﻔ ﹶﻈﻬ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ said: we must preserve the Daw’ah and the Deen of Allâh ,
what is meant by persevering is that there must be unity under the umbrella of the
Book of Allâh , and the Sunnah of His Messenger , the unity is what makes Ahl-
us-Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah unique among other groups. Things that distinguish Ahl-us-
Sunnah from the others are many, but I only mentioned a few.

Finally, I (Umm Salamah As ‘Salafiyyah) give Naseehah to myself and my sisters

(the Da’eeyyaat) to give priority to seeking knowledge so that they may gain an
understanding of Kitaab and Sunnah and return back to the Ahul-Ilm. Our scholar’s
those that have spent all of their lives in seeking knowledge in understanding of the
Deen of Allâh, to the point that Allâh has given them the knowledge to distinguish
what is from the misguidance and the guidance. So Allâh , has given them the
success in seeking knowledge and in preserving the Da’wah. So it is important that
we turn to our Ulaamah so that our Da’wah will be correct.

Correct meaning: that which do not have Bi’dah now for our Da’wah to be correct
we MUST return back to the Ulaamah. Our Ulaamah today are many (may Allâh
preserve them). We ask them about every matter, whether it is major or minor. We
ask them about the books we are studying, the books we are teaching. We ask about
the ones who teach us and this how we benefit so that we will not fall into Bi’dah.

Ahl-ul-Bi’dah didn’t fall into Bi’dah except from them turning away from the
Ulaamah and following there desires. When they left the Ulaamah they fell into
the Bid’ah. There intentions was that they just wanted good, but with that good the
Shaitân has entered and if they return to the people of knowledge, they would have
known they were upon misguidance.

The Sisters Who Give Da’wah in The West

I advise my sisters, the Da’eeyyat (i.e. Female callers), not to detach herself from Ahl-
ul-Ilm, and that she should be consulting them with every matter whether it is minor
or major. Therefore, she will not be misguided or misguide others.

May Allâh make us upon those who call with Hikmah (wisdom) upon the Book of
Allâh with the explanation of Sunnah the Prophet . Ameen!

NOTE: this is not a word for word transcription we hope that this will be of some
benefit to our sisters in Al-Islam. From what we were able to get from the wisdom of
Umm Salamah As-Salafiyyah ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺎ ﺍﻟﱠﹲﻠ‬‫ﻔ ﹶﻈﻬ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
