'Roman Hours' is the first publication in collaboration between writer Andre Aciman and
photographer Jeannette Montgomery Barron. The idea for this project grew out of a series of
conversations between the two authors and their shared desire to capture Rome. The book
brings together a selection of images that, put together, offer a reflection on the contradictions,
colours, and sounds of Rome, where the ancient is glimpsed through the modern and the bright
colours fade into the characteristic ocher tones of the Eternal City.

Around 1960, Ed van der Elsken (1925-1990) put together a photobook on the theme of "feest"
(feast). Drawing from both old and new work, he produced a design that is a sequence of festive
occasions: fun, celebration, dancing, music, fairs, carnivals, excitement, and euphoria, but also
drunkenness and exhaustion in the wee hours. He combined the individual photographs into
sparkling and rhythmical pairings, so that a genuine sense of joy emanates from the pages. At the
time, for reasons unknown, the design was left on the shelf.

Ruth van Beek uses the established visual codes of photography to guide viewers into a belief in
the incredible rarity or importance of the depicted object, even when that object is unidentifiable.
From a growing archive of found photographic material, she arranges images in constantly
changing ways. Specialist books and magazines from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s are the primary
source for her odd and playful collages, with subjects such as tending bonsai trees, caring for
cacti, and the Japanese art of flower arranging. Van Beek cuts and folds, adding paper shapes
painted with watercolours and forging often unsettling or comical visual connections between the
images.

In 'Rotterdam/Dresden', Otto Snoek places modern-day panoramas of the two cities next to each
other. The parallels between them are strong: both cities suffered traumatic bombings during the
Second World War, and both have been since rebuilt as powerful and dynamic urban centres.
Through his images and their juxtapositions, Snoek interweaves the narrative of these parallel
places.

In our strictly organized surroundings, the street belongs to everyone and no one. With his series
'#Streetlogic', Jeroen Arians registers how the everyday objects people leave behind reclaim
public space. Unintentionally, these people create temporary spectacles of perfect beauty.
Sometimes unreal, absurd, and even outright funny, the spectacles end once the objects are
disposed of by waste collectors or given new life by interested strangers.

Clouds hold a special fascination for humans - we cannot help attempting to decode them, either
to predict the weather or just for fun. But certain clouds signify something more than an
approaching storm or a vivid imagination. They are shaped by destruction, pushing upwards and
blossoming like a mushroom after a nuclear detonation, or furiously rising atop an erupting
volcano - terrifying epitomes of nature's immense power. Juan Hein has turned this fascination
towards the realm of technology, mining the digital cloud instead of seeking clouds in the sky. He
peers into a vast body of information and images, and captures what he finds most interesting.

Humans and horses share a long history together, from transport and agriculture to war. Currently
they are often seen as domestic pets with a moral status, used for recreation, competitions, and
medical therapy. In 1948, the grandfather of Heleen Peeters began a business in what many now
consider taboo: horse meat. At that time of post-war recovery, many people were poor, and
affordable horse meat was in high demand. But today the production and consumption of horse
meat is disappearing. This volume broadly documents the culture and traditions of horse meat in
many places around the world, including Belgium, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina, and the United
States.

'It Just Happened' is a book by the American photographer and writer Bob Colacello, who was
editor of 'Interview' magazine between 1971 and 1983 and Andy Warhol's right-hand. In this
publication, he shares photos from his personal album taken between the late seventies and early
eighties, bringing alive an intimate and faithful chronicle of the fascinating social circle around the
so-called Pope of Pop. Conceived as a photographic album, the book presents Colacello's
photographs chronologically, accompanied by captions handwritten by the photographer,
explaining and contextualising the images.

"Melle is my son. He has multiple disabilities. He is a cheerful boy who needs support from his
environment with everything. Besides his mother I am also a photographer. I am fascinated by
him being 'different' and the possibilities and impossibilities of his body. Full of amazement I have
photographed him in all kinds of postures. Because we are so familiar with each other, I can look
at him freely as if he were a living sculpture. Usually I leave out the unnecessary at this occasion I
added the unnecessary on purpose."
