Firmware upgrade procedure for DIR-825 G1

Why you need to upgrade the firmware: As firmware performs the integral functions of
hardware, firmware updates bring improvements in the program, which are necessary for the
devices to operate smoothly and for better security.

What firmware versions are compatible:

version 3.0.5

The latest firmware version 3.0.6 has improved wireless performance, more features and bug fixes
over 7.XX and previous 3.0.X firmware versions.

Connection diagram:

1) Plug in one end of Ethernet cable into PC and the second end into 1 of the 4 four LAN ports
of

Ethernet cable

PC IP: 192.168.0.100 Device IP: 192.168.0.1

Firmware upgrade procedure

1) Open Internet Explorer/Chrome browser
2) Type 192.168.0.1 in the browser address bar

3) Login to the device by clicking Login. (Default Username is Admin & no password)

In case if you have created any password please enter the same.

4) Click on Tools tab

5) Click on Firmware tab

6) Under firmware upgrade click on browse and select & upload firmware 7.01 & wait for 120

7) You will be redirected to the 192.168.0.1 URL, if it does not then you can manually type the
URL 192.168.0.1 and login to the device
8) Click login or put the password as stated in step 3
9) check if the firmware version updated to 7.01

10) Click Tools tab

11) Click Firmware tab

12) Click browse and select intermediate firmware

13) Click upload firmware

14) Wait for 120 Sec

15) Login into the device by Accessing URL 192.168.0.1 (Please refer step 3 to login)
16) The user interface will be different and with blue background

17) Click onto System tab and then on to Firmware update tab

18) Click choose file and select the latest firmware (2019.09.16-
12.41_DIR_825AC_G1A_3.0.6_internal)

19) Click Update Firmware

20) Wait for the process to finish

21) Perform a hard reset (Press and hold reset button for 6-8 Sec) and proceed to the setup
wizard

22) Click on summary and check if the device has been upgraded to the latest firmware version

23) If the process is unsuccessful then please repeat the procedure
