1. BASE OFF SETUP
A. TURN NO FUSE BREAKER (CB1) ON FR-SE TO OFF.
B. CANCEL BREAKER TRIP ALARM. REMOVE A SPARE JUMPER STRAP
(PIN 8 ON IO1), AND PLACE IT ON THE FB SIDE OF PIN 4 (LOWER RIGHT
CORNER) OF THE IO1.
C. PUT DRIVE INTO OPEN LOOP MODE. DIP SWITCH 6-2 ON CPU BRD
OFF (DOWN).
D. PUT DRIVE INTO METER CALIBRATION MODE. DIP SWITCH 6-6 ON
CPU BRD OFF ( DOWN).
E. ENABLE CONVERTER FIRING WAVEFORMS. INSTALL JUMPER
WIRE BETWEEN CH2 (DGA) AND CATHODE OF D12 (TOP).

A. CH43A TO CH2 IS 0mVDC +/-5mVDC ADJUST VR10
B. CH58 TO CH2 IS 0mVDC +/-5mVDC ADJUST VR11
C. CH57 TO CH2 IS 0mVDC +/-5mVDC ADJUST VR12
D. CH56 TO CH2 IS 0mVDC +/-5mVDC ADJUST VR13

4. MAX SPEED ADJUSTMENT


A. GIVE DRIVE A READY COMMAND (LED 2 IS ON).
B. CH34 TO CH2 IS +10.00VDC +/-5mVDC ADJUST VR6
(ADJUSTMENT SHOULD BE MADE ALL THE WAY CW, THEN BACK CCW TO
+10.0VDC)

5. INVERTER WAVEFORM TEST


A. GIVE DRIVE A CW OR CCW COMMAND (LED 3 OR 4 IS ON).
B. SET OSCILLOSCOPE TO 1V/DIV AND 0.1mS/DIV
C. OBSERVE WAVEFORMS AT THE FOLLOWING CHANNELS
CH44 TO R128 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH45 TO R131 (LEFT SIDE)
CH46 TO R134 (LEFT SIDE)
CH47 TO R137 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH48 TO R137 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH49 TO R137 (RIGHT SIDE)

NOTE: INSTALLING A JUMPER WIRE


BETWEEN CH9 TO CH2 WILL FREEZE THE PWM 1V/DIV
SIGNAL TO BETTER OBSERVE THE WAVEFORM. 0.1mS/DIV
WITH THIS JUMPER OFF, THE WAVEFORM
SHOULD BE MODULATING.

6. CONVERTER WAVEFORM TEST
A. READY AND DIRECTION MUST STILL BE APPLIED.
B. SET OSCILLOSCOPE TO 1V/DIV AND 5mS/DIV
C. OBSERVE THE WAVEFORMS AT THE FOLLOWING CHANNELS
CH50 TO R146 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH51 TO R149 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH52 TO R152 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH53 TO R155 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH54 TO R155 (RIGHT SIDE)
CH55 TO R155 (RIGHT SIDE)

7. CONVERTER ENABLE CIRCUIT 1V/DIV


(IF DRIVE PASSES ALL TESTS) 5mS/DIV
A. TURN OFF MAIN POWER.
B. TURN NO FUSE BREAKER ON.
C. REMOVE JUMPER FROM PIN 4.
D. REMOVE OTHER JUMPER WIRES.
E. CHANGE DIP SWITCH 6-2 AND 6-6 BACK ON (UP).
F. POWER ON MAIN BREAKER.
G. GIVE A READY COMMAND.
H. CHECK VOLTAGE FROM PN FEEDBACK.
CH42 TO CH2 ADJUST VR8
I. CHECK VOLTAGE FROM RST FEEDBACK.
CH43 TO CH2 ADJUST VR9

CH42 SHOULD BE ADJUSTED SO THAT IT IS 150mVDC MORE POSITIVE THAN CH43 IS IN ABSOLUTE. CH42 WILL BE
POSITIVE AND CH43 WILL BE NEGATIVE. i.e. IF CH42=+7.15VDC THAN CH43 SHOULD = -7.00VDC. THESE VALUES
WILL DIFFER PER MACHINE DUE TO VARIATIONS IN LINE VOLTAGES. SEE THE CHART BELOW FOR THE CORRECT
SETTINGS OF THESE CHANNELS PER INPUT LINE VOLTAGE. IF YOUR LINE IS NOT WITHIN THESE TOLERANCES,
CONTACT MITSUBISHI SERVICE.
