FLUX CORED WIRES OK

1.0 NORMAL CONDITIONS

Traditionally, OK® Tubrod® tubular wires do not require special storage procedures.
Packaging in plastic bag with the presence of silica gel has proved to be a suitable
protection.

1.1 STORAGE
 Non-breached original packaging
 Minimum ambient temperature: + 18 °C
 Maximum relative humidity: 70%

2.0 SPECIAL CONDITIONS

For applications where a strict control of the hydrogen level is required, the following
procedure is recommended.

2.2 STUFFING
 Remove the outer carton, plastic bag, silica gel, cardboard support and waxed paper
 Temperature range: 45 - 50 °C

3.0 STACKING AND HANDLING

ESAB recommends the maximum stacking of seven boxes, one over the other. The boxes
should be stacked and stored in the horizontal position (figure 1). If pallet stacking is
required, wood support should be used between them (figure 2). For safety reasons, stack up
to four pallets.

Wire packages should be handled with care so that the internal parts are not damaged. It is
recommended not to throw the boxes, not to drag them and not to put high weight on them,
considering the maximum stacking of 7 boxes, as mentioned above.

Incorrect handling can damage the wire spools, which can lead to welding problems such as
power failure and consequently arc instability. In the case of vacuum packaging, incorrect
handling may lead to loss of the same.

4.0 EXPIRATION DATE OF FLUX CORED WIRES OK Tubrod®

ESAB guarantees OK Tubrod® tubular wires as low-hydrogen products for a period of one
year of storage after the date of manufacture, provided that the storage conditions mentioned
above are followed. This period may be extended for a period to be defined by the ESAB
after tests to determine the diffusible hydrogen content of the weld metal obtained with OK
Tubrod® tubular wire under analysis.
