 The ultimate goal I wish to reach in my classroom is to have my students learn and grow

within my classroom and outside of it. I want to have my lessons reach them and engage them in

a way that they are able to connect it with their own life. This can help them realize the world

around them and start to think about it in a way they didn’t before. In this project I bring forward

literature and a different lens for them to analyze the story. They are to look at how characters

are portrayed across different types of literature and media. They will take their own experiences

and share how these portrayals affect themselves or their gender as a whole. Making these

connections to literature will bring it closer to them and engage them better than just reading the

text by itself. It will also improve their critical reading skills and allow them to change their

perspective or start to open their eyes to a world unfamiliar to them.

I feel the best way to achieve this goal is through collaborative projects and collaborative

learning. Having access to things like Chromebooks, and a classroom printer will allow my

students to work together while also giving them the opportunity to print their work for

immediate feedback. They can check in on each other throughout their projects while also being

able to have their own individual copy of their group assignment. I would also like my students

to solely focus on the work at hand instead of worrying if they have all the supplies they need. I

wish to alleviate these worries by having extra supplies to those who need it. Having enough that

I can offer it to everyone will rid of any shame a student may have while asking for help. I want

to provide my students with an enriching environment while also assuaging their worries for

preparedness in the classroom.
