TECHNOLOGY REFLECTIONS

The technology decisions that were made were all made in an effort to get technology
involved in every aspect of the lesson plan. Technology has revolutionized the way we interact
and connect with each other and that is no more evident than in the classrooms. Students today
need to prepare for a life and a workplace that is more exposed than ever to social media,
television, video games, and other technological advancements. By bringing technology into this
lesson plan and every lesson plan in the classroom, I can help prepare my students to handle the
professional world of the future. When it comes to the health lesson, I made each decision
regarding the plan to ensure that the students would be able to identify healthy and unhealthy
foods.

To meet the diverse needs of each learner I added in a couple of concepts that I knew
would help. The first was to split the class into groups after the Introduction and Explicit
Instruction/Teacher Modeling segment. The reason I did that was because it makes the students
learn together and help each other find different healthy foods that the other students may have
never had before or heard of before. The second aspect of the needs of learners that I tried to
implement was the giving each student their own IPAD. This way each student had their own
learning vessel where they could follow the PWPT lesson and take notes as needed. It also
allowed them the ability later on to research healthy meals in their group quickly and on them
own. Allowing more recipes to be found and discussed amongst the group. I tried to have a little
bit of product differentiation within the lesson plan. Product differentiation is probably the most
common form of differentiation. I gave the students choices to where they could pick from. I also
tried to allow the students propose their own designs or meals to the class to help with the
differentiation process. The key to product options is having clear academic criteria that students
understand which when designing this lesson, I try to consider.
The elements of Digital citizenships that I tried to meet were Digital Access,
Digital Law, Digital Communication and Digital Health and wellness. I did a good job of

explaining the search engines that they could use and how they worked. I discussed briefly with
them some of the digital ethics, copyrights, fair use, and plagiarism prevention tactics. In the
lesson the teacher would also have to discuss electronic note taking because they students would
be taking notes on their IPADs as they were following along in the lesson. Traditional note
taking is a multistep process. Electronic note taking organizes and expedites the process.
