the only person who was a doctor in my family and knew a lot about medicine was my aunt Hilda
Cerron. She was born in 1970 in a small village located in the jungle called Chanchamayo. She was the
most caring, lovely and hardworking aunt I’ve ever known for different reasons.

I really looked up to my aunt since she had been a single mom for more than 10 years. She brought my
cousins up by working really hard in different hospitals. In fact, she wasn’t only an amazing mom, but
also a wonderful aunt. I consider her truly important because she also helped my parents raise me..

Indeed, I will never forget those times when we used to play hide-and-seek with her, my brother and
cousins in the park over the spring. Besides, the way she used to bake cakes during her visits to my
house…

As I mentioned before, my aunt Hilda was the only doctor in my whole family. She studied Medicine in
Federico Villareal University from 1989 until 1997 and got her bachelor’s degree while she was starting
to work in a public hospital…Sadly, She passed away 4 years ago due to a terrible car accident.
Nonetheless, I still remember her with so much love.
