MCT/MST Lesson Observation Feedback Form Template


The MCT and MST will use this form to formally observe the trainee’s performance and to give feedback
based on the selected teaching competencies.
(kindly fill in conjunction with a completed copy of the supporting assessment rubric)

Comments:

The lesson plan was submitted on time.

No issue on punctuality in TP attendance was observed.

Fakhera did not check the class attendance prior to anything else in her lesson. The teacher is advised
to check the class attendance, especially that this is the first period of the pupils. She is also advised
further to remind the pupils of the classroom rules and proper behaviour during the class proceeding.

A semi-detailed lesson plan was prepared by Fakhera. It is advised that she submit a detailed lesson
plan so as for us to see what she was going to do and what the learners were to do as well.

The objective of her lesson plan made use of word USE which is a measurable verb. This goes without
saying that the Bloom Taxonomy insofar as the measurable verbs are concerned was adhered to.

Review of the past lesson via a quiz was done. Links were sent to the pupils. It would be better if the
teacher made the pupils aware as to how much time they need to accomplish the quiz. Also, there was
checking and giving of feedback to the pupils’ work.

Comments:

Singing of the UAE National Anthem was factored in prior to the lesson. Although the class was
online, the teacher reminded the students to stand up as a sign of respect while it is being played. This
is indeed vital to developing respect to one’s national identity and cultural heritage.

The teacher asked the pupils what the colors are of the UAE flag. The question was answered correctly.

Fakhera’s voice needs more projection.

Fakhera must be the only one teaching. The MST is not supposed to interrupt in the teaching.

Fakhera has to control the noise of the pupils herself. She must be the one who should have the total
control of the class, not the MST.

Comments:

Use of nearpod was factored in in the teaching, but it seems there was little problem with it.

The preparation phase of her lesson needs some improvement. Since this is mathematics and the topic
itself constitute a technical term (distributive property), she could work out first on unlocking the
difficulty of the term. It is believed that explaining what the term is can help the pupils understand the
concept clearly.

The organization of the lesson needs to improve as it was so difficult to determine which constitutes
what.

There was not enough focus and time given to the presentation and explanation of the concept. Most of
the time, the pupils were simply led to answering activities. The teacher should have processed well
giving of feedback to pupils’ work.

Comments:
The teacher should have planned the questions to ask in such a way that both lower and higher order
thinking skills of the Bloom’s Taxonomy were addressed.

Enough activities (quizzes) were implemented to carry out the objective of the lesson.

Reflection on Practice F D C B A
Fakhera has to improve in her teaching. She has to organize very well everything she needs to do and
plan good activities in every part of the lesson. She is advised to improve on the following aspects of
her lesson:

Preparation Phase (attendance checking, giving motivational activities related to the lesson, etc.)
Presentation Phase (Abstraction and comparison of the concept, equation, technical terms, illustrations,
etc.)
Practice (Giving of feedback to pupils’ work)
