EXERPTS FROM CASE ANALYSIS
THE CASE OF YSABELLE

The Case of Ysabelle, she was raised by her grandmother alone due to her parents
needing to work in Singapore. Her parents only went home once a year and even
then, they could only be with her for two weeks. On Ysabelle’s Graduation, her
parents were not able to attend since they had an important business matter to take
care of in Germany. This in effect influenced Ysabelle’s way of thinking because
she thought that her parents do not love her and were not proud of her. Ysabelle
parents are the main reason why she thinks and behaves that way. They failed to give
her the attention and love that she was longing for. Because of that, she feels like
she was not important to them. She even tried to please her parents by being the first
honor in her class. Thinking this will get their attention and become proud of her.
The pressure that was given to her in school also contributed to why Ysabelle felt
disappointed in herself. It was when she was elected as the Student Council President
that started making her struggle. She found it difficult to balance her time for her
studies and her co-curricular activities due to the tons of schoolwork. Making her
feel overwhelmed and distressed. She even came to a point where she was not able
to eat properly and get enough sleep. Which made her loose the opportunity to
graduate with Latin Honors.
EXERPTS FROM MODULE 3
JOURNAL

In my parents expectation, I feel really bad because I

can't make their expectations to become true. And I
also feel remorse for my wrongdoings. I feel sad
because I can't reach their expectations. For my
siblings expectations, I feel good because they don't
have a high expectations to me because they know
my weakness and strength. And for my friends
expectations, I feel happy because their expectations
to me is good and I think I can reach their
expectations.
