The Utilization of Patola (Luffa acutangula) Fiber as Raw Material

for Producing Writing Paper

Background of the Study

Introduction
The researchers conduct the study as they want to discover new raw material for
producing a writing paper. The researchers thought of a way on how they can use the patola fiber
to make an alternative paper.

Statement of the Problem

The general objective of this study is to discover new raw material for paper, which is the
patola fiber and determine its appropriateness as a writing paper product.
The specific objectives are the following:
1. To discover a new way of using patola.
2. To identify the quality of the product as a new writing paper product.
3. To reduce the cutting of trees that are to be used for producing paper.

Scope and Limitations

• This research study will focus on the Patola fiber as a raw material for making paper.
• The researchers will only use patola and no other variable that will be involved in this
study.
• The researchers will only examine the quality of Patola fiber paper as a new writing
paper product.
• The estimated time frame of the experiment from drying the patola to the outcome of the
product will take two months (November to December).
Research Design and Instrument
This study focuses more on the utilization of patola fiber as raw material for producing
writing paper. The researchers will use the quantitative method and one-shot case study research
design for this study.
The researchers will also create a rating scale survey questionnaire as their main tool for
collecting data.

Data Collection
The researchers will use a rating scale survey questionnaires to collect data and
information from the respondents.

Data Analysis Procedure

The researchers will produce at least 10 survey questionnaires to the students of Grade 12
STEM 1 from SJCDC. The questionnaires will focus on questions regarding the quality and
appropriateness of the product, which is writing paper made from patola fiber, and ask for
concrete feedbacks from the respondents.

Ethical Considerations

This research aimed to investigate ethical considerations. In this case, there was voluntary
participation. However, the researchers disregard the welfare of the participants. Researchers
shall protect the confidentiality of the participants and their information. Any type of misleading
information, as well as the representation of primary data findings in a biased way, must be
avoided.
The Capability of Used Paper as an Alternative Ink

Background of the Study

Introduction
Permanent markers are very essential to everyone, especially to students. We can use
them in many aspects such as doing reports and more.
As they are essential to everybody, the researchers came up with this study for the reason
of providing alternative ink for permanent markers. With also a goal to help the students and
teachers to find cheaper options in buying permanent marker ink.

Statement of the Problem

The general objective of this study is to evaluate the capability of used paper as an
alternative ink.
The specific objectives are the following:
1. To prove and explore another way to recycle paper.
2. To identify the materials that can be used to make ink.

Scope and Limitations

• This research study will focus on the production of ink out of used paper and other
needed materials.
• The estimated time frame of the experiment from drying the patola to the outcome of the
product will take two months (November to December).

Research Design and Instrument

This study focuses more on the capability of used paper as an alternative ink. The
researchers will use the quantitative method and one-shot case study research design for this

capability of the product, which is the permanent ink from used papers, and ask for concrete
feedbacks from the respondents.
