2. Maintenance Note
2.1 Brake System

Be sure to conduct maintenance work on level and hard ground.


Stop the engine, and remove the starter key.
Make sure that sufficient space is available for the lift truck to move around and that no one or no obstacle is
around the lift truck.

(1) Check brake drum bolts.

(a) Loosen the radiator drain cock and drain the


coolant.
(b) Close the drain cock and fill a proper mixture of
antifreeze and water (see the table below).
Then start the engine to warm up.
(c) Check for any unusual noise while warming the
engine. Check that the coolant level is between 216161
FULL and LOW marks on the reserve tank
when the engine is warm.

(5) Check driving interlock system.

(b) Park the lift truck on level ground with no peo-
ple or obstacles around, and start the engine.
Then place the direction lever either in the for-
ward or reverse, and half rise from the opera-
tor's seat.
(c) The driving interlock indicator blinks in a few 216166
seconds.
(d) Sit on the operator's seat properly, press the
brake pedal, and place the direction lever in
the neutral.

(6) Check electrical wires.
