Calculations:
1. Length of the yarn = 500 metres; Weight = 500 grams. Find the
count in Tex, Ne, Nm and Denier.
Solution:
• Tex = (500 g * 1 g) / (500m/1000m) = 1000 Tex
• Ne = (500*1.094/840)/(500/453.6) = (0.6512/1.102) =0.591 Ne
• Nm = (500/1000)/(500/1000) = 1 Nm
• Denier = (500g*1g) /(500m/9000m) =9000 D
Solution:
n (no. of fibre in cross section) = 15000/ (μg/inch * count in Ne)
= 15000/ (4.5 * 6)
n= 556
CVlim = 100/√n = 100/√556 = 4.24 %
Solution:
Step 1 :find yarn tex by Convert Nm to Tex -- Tex = 1000/Nm =
1000/10 =100 Tex
6. If the cotton yarn Tex is 100 and its fibre Tex is 1 then calculate
no. of fibres in cross section of yarn.
Solution:
n = T/Tf = 100/1 = 100
7. The woolen yarn count is 15 Nm with a average diameter of wool
process contains 45% wool and 55% synthetic staple material and
has a yarn count of Nm 30.The fibre fineness for the synthetic
fibre material is 0.44 tex and the men fibre diameter is 27.5 μm.
Calculate the limiting irregularity of the blended yarn. CVd of
wool fibre is 25%
Solution:
Blended Yarn Tex = 1000/Nm = 1000/30 = 33.33 Tex
=0.00103 (27.5)2
= 0.779
n = woolen yarn Tex/wool fibre Tex = 15/0.779 =19.2
CVlim of wool part = (100 (√(1+ (0.0004*25 2 ))))/ √19.2 = 25.5 %
10. A draw frame fed with 8 cotton sliver with mean CV of 2.8%.The
