STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

SAPNA JOSHI
If one were to ask my friends to describe me they would describe me as a very pleasant,
diverse, active and intelligent woman. I think one of my most distinguishing characteristics is
the diversity of experiences I possess. I am a science student with a flair for the arts. I am a
woman with technical aptitude and an interest in management. All these elements have
given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I
strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence
my graduate work.

My Engineering degree has given a strong foundation to my analytical skills since Electrical
engineering involves a lot of long, complex and intricate calculations and the application of basic
science skills.

My strong interest in MBA originated, when it was first introduced to me as the process of creating
and delivering customer value, in my below four month journey as Financial consultant in ICICI
Prudential, where I felt that I should need some MBA skill when I see my boss, who is MBA in
marketing, having very good communication and marketing skill to satisfy customer requirement and
their needs and myself decided to do MBA.

Moving on to the professional front, I came face to face with organizational structure and the
changing team dynamics. Unlike college, the workplace was more driven by deadlines and client
requirements. My role and and responsibility in ICICI Prudential insurance sector as a Financial
consultant are described as below:

As a life insurance advisor, I would be the link that connects us with the customers. My
primary responsibility was be to provide life insurance services on behalf of ICICI Prudential
Life Insurance. As a advisor, I was in a unique position where both, my company and the
customer put our faith in me. Hence, the duty of gaining the trust of my customers, and
giving them the right insurance advice. My responsibility will also include interacting with
individuals and families to:

 Understand their protection and investment needs


 Identify and recommend solutions that fits their requirements the best
 Offer the prospect or existing customer the complete range of products
 Help complete the procedure necessary for processing the purchase of policy
 Keep in touch with customers to ensure that their policy service requests are managed
properly
 Facilitate settlement of claims
During course of my working, we as a team including my colluge organized seminar in
various industries around Vadodara, shopping mall on why insurance is a need of everyone
and to resolve personnel queries. This learnt me how to work as team.

I have also learned Indian classic dance Bharat Natyam and had been imparted three years
training at Tanjore Dance Music & Art Research Centre, Vadodara, Sri Tanjore Nritya Gharana
under the able guidance by Hon’ble Guru Shri Ramesh Kubernath Tanjorkar and Guru Smt.
Leela Ramesh Tanjorkar and his son Sh Aashis Tanjorkar.
Bharta Natyam inspired me a lot as It is not only the art of quintessence of Beauty, Power
but also an attraction to achieve devine power through it. It also makes a person fit
physically, as Classical Dance needs total body movement and perfect postures.
I have passed Praveshika Pratham exam in Bharat Natyam by Grade First, which is taken by
AKHIL BHARTIYA GANDHARVA. MAHAVIDYALAYA MANDAL, NAVI MUMBAI.

To start with, my main goal is to LEARN and EXPERIENCE as much as I can, to gain EXPERTISE in the
field i am good at, to reach at top of the ladder in an organization and to act as a GOOD LEADER, to
have SELF SATISFACTION, the thing which can't be neglected is FINANCIAL GROWTH, to be able to face
different CHALLENGES and provide best of the best solutions, to FOCUS on KRA's and KPA's. For me,
all these Goals have a value when not only me but my parents are Happy and they feel proud. Last but
not the least, to be a good HUMAN BEING.

I am sure that IFIM will give me the support, skills, knowledge and experience to make the
successful transition from course to career, no matter what I want to achieve as well as
